AllLevels:ADULTACCOMPANIMENTREQUIRED.This classisbeingofferedaspartofthecertification classforWaterSafetyInstructorcandidates. Instructorcandidateswillpracticetheirswimlesson instructionskillsandreceivefeedbackabouttheir instruction.Participantswilllearnsomeskillsand improvetheirswimmingability.However,thisis notafullsessionoflessonsandchildrenwillnot passtothenextlevel.
SPRINGSWIMLESSONS-AGES6MONTHS3YEARS
Thisclassisdesignedforbabiesortoddlersand theirparents/caregiverstobecomemore comfortableinandaroundwater.Participants engageinwaterexplorationwiththeobjectiveof havingfun.Parentswilllearnthefundamentalsof watersafetyandhowtohandlechildrenwhilein thewaterproperly.
LEVEL1-AGES3-5YEARS
Thisclassintroduceschildrentobasicwaterskills. Participantsstartdevelopingpositiveattitudes, effectiveswimminghabits,andsafepracticingin andaroundthewater. Childrenwillworkon retrievingsubmergedobjects,gliding,androlling fromfronttobackandbacktofrontwithsupport.
LEVEL2-AGES4-8YEARS
Thisclassintroducestruelocomotioninthewater. Childrenwillworkonglidingandrollingwithout supportandrecovertoaverticalposition. Participantswillbegintodevelopsimultaneousand alternatingarmandlegactionsonfrontandback, layingthefoundationforfuturestokedevelopment.
LEVEL3-AGES5-9YEARS
Inthisclass,childrenwillbegintoexpandtheir skillsinthewaterandlearnandpracticesurvival floating.Participantswilllearnfrontcrawl, backstroke,andelementarybackstrokeat rudimentaryproficiencyandbeintroducedto treading.Participantswillalsobeginheadfirst entriesfromthepooldeck(seatedposition).
LEVEL4-AGES6-10YEARS
Thisclassfocusesonincreasingendurancefor previouslylearnedswimmingstrokes(frontcrawl andbackstroke)aswellasintroducingrudimentary sidestrokeandbreaststroke.Participantsalsolearn butterflybasics.Openturnsatthewallarealso introducedinthislevel.
LEVEL5-AGES5-9YEARS
Inthislevel,childrenrefinetheirperformanceofall sixstrokes(frontcrawl,backcrawl,butterfly, breaststroke,elementarybackstroke,and sidestroke)andincreasethedistancesthatthey swim.Participantsalsolearntoperformflipturns ontheirfrontandbackaswellashead-firstentries fromkneelingandstandingpositions.

Signal Butte Phase II
Project timeline: Completion Winter 2024
Improvements will include the addition of a parking lot, ramadas, restroom, lighting, trail system, BMX bike trails, and a pedestrian bridge over the wash to connect Signal Butte Park Phase I to Phase II.
Mesa Tennis & Pickleball Center
Addition of eight pickleball courts, two of which are ADA courts, lighting, and five shade structures with benches underneath.

Red Mountain Park Expansion
Construct 10 soccer fields, and 4 baseball/ softball fields with parking, lighting, & landscape.
Reed Park
Playground enhancement and shade addition to replace aging equipment and activate the park.

Construct 4 lighted youth baseball/softball fields, a tot lot, additional parking, 4 pickleball courts, a small library and restrooms adjacent to the existing park near Power & Guadalupe.
