National Volunteer Appreciation Week Sunday, April 19 – Saturday, April 25

Thousands of volunteers offer their support to staff, programs, events and City projects. Their continuing effort has been vital to keeping O’Fallon strong and vibrant as a community. In the past year, 2,271 citizen volunteers contributed nearly 16,000 hours of service, assisting in city offices and at 50+ activities, events, festivals and days of service. Their passion for the environment resulted in the removal of 1,300 lbs. of trash from area creeks and roadsides and the planting of 5,500 flowers in city parks. Outreach programs resulted in 3,600 food items taken to local pantries, care boxes sent to 85 deployed troops, hand-crafted cards and flowers delivered to 700 seniors, and enough blood donations to potentially save 400 lives locally. Appreciation events are planned throughout the week to recognize volunteer service in O’Fallon.
