PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE We have been certainly experiencing unusual times over the last few months. We were sad to have to close our programs and facilities as a result of COVID-19 but it was the right thing to do for the good of our community. We proudly serve thousands of customers across all our program areas and we look forward to seeing you all again soon as we slowly reopen our facilities. Our program brochure will be virtual only until we settle into a "new normal". This allows us to easily update the information we know our customers rely on. We hope you'll understand and share the word with friends and family. Our team has been diligently planning and preparing for the ability to reopen our facilities and resume program operations. We have taken all the precautions, followed all the guidelines, trained our staff, and are able to meet the requirements for reopening in the various phases ahead. We ask for your patience as we ensure we can safely reopen. Until then, Reno is a wonderful place to recreate both indoors and outdoors. Did you know Reno is home to 87 parks, 34 miles of trails and 1700 acres of open space? Our parks team has been hard at work maintaining your parks. I encourage you to visit one of our parks where you'll find room for social distancing. There is a complete list in this brochure under the Parks section.

Faith Photography of Nevada

THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION FORMS ARE LISTED BELOW Sierra Kids and Camp Programs: • Scholarship - Fee Assistance Application (Sierra Kids and camps only) • Spanish Scholarship - Fee Assistance application Other City of Reno Programs: • City of Reno Scholarship Fee Assistance Application & Guideline Packet

The City of Reno is committed to providing recreational opportunities to all residents regardless of economic circumstances. For this reason, a limited fund fee assistance program is available to those who qualify. If you have wanted to participate in our all-day camps, before-and-after school programs or qualified classes but couldn’t because of financial circumstances, we encourage you to apply. Income level, family size, and other criteria determine whether or not fee assistance is awarded. Many families that qualify for a reduced program fee are not taking advantage of the opportunity simply because they haven't asked to be considered. For additional information call Norah or Ping at 775-334-2260 or visit Reno.Gov/ParksandRec.

Once you have completed an application, return it to the Administration Office, City Hall, 1 East 1st Street, Reno 89501. Upon receipt of the completed application and the required supporting documents it will take approximately 10 business days to review a scholarship request.

NEW, RENOVATED OR EXPANDED PARKS Cyan Park: This 14+ acre park will be under construction this year, with completion planned for late fall 2020 depending on weather. The park will include fenced offleash areas for dogs, a splash pad, tennis, basketball, bankshot and pickleball courts, a large flat field for youth sports, fitness equipment and expanded parking. The entire park will be closed during construction. Mayor's Park: Construction will begin this summer for an improved entry road and parking lot, a permanent restroom and renovations to the large softball field. The project should be completed late this fall. Miguel Ribera Park: A new restroom building is currently being installed near the picnic shelter. The project will be completed in April.
