Date: Wednesdays, January 6 - April 28 Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Ages: 0+ Cost: Free Location: SPL YouTube & Facebook An early literacy-based storytime for the whole family, including stories, rhymes, songs and more from the comfort of your own home. Storytimes will premiere at the designated time on Suffolk Public Library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Videos will remain up for future viewing.
Baby & Me [LIVE + Kit] Date: Tuesdays, January 12, February 9, March 9, April 13 Time: 10:00 - 10:30 AM Ages: 0 - 24 mo Cost: Free Location: SPL Online Registration required. Baby & Me is a Live program provided through Facebook in our Baby & Me group page for babies ages 0 months to 24 months and their caregiver. The program will include a brief storytime, an extension activity for home, and an opportunity for babies and caregivers to socialize virtually with other babies and caregivers. Please join our Facebook group: Baby & Me - South Hampton Roads. Supplies will be available for pickup at the chosen location prior to the program air date. Please reserve your Virtual2Go pack by registering online. Participants will be emailed with instructions for logging into the class. Each week will feature a book and tie-in activities that will be included in the Virtual2Go pack. Registration is required for the pack. Some activities can get messy so dress accordingly. Supplies will be available for pickup at the chosen location prior to the program air date.

Registration is required for LIVE events. Registered participants will provide their email address to receive a link to a Zoom meeting at least 15 minutes before the program begins. BARKS Reading Program [LIVE] Date: Mondays, January 25, February 22, March 15, April 19 Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM Grades: K - 5 Cost: Free Location: SPL Online Increase your confidence and reading skills through our BARKS program. Therapy dogs will listen well to your interests or follow along with the current book you are reading! Registration is required—participants will provide their email address to receive a link to a Zoom meeting at least 15 minutes before the program begins. Audio capabilities are needed and video capabilities are encouraged. Depending on the number of participants and the number of therapy dogs available, you may be asked to read to dogs in shifts using Zoom’s breakout rooms. It is encouraged to have an adult present during the program.
Help Me Understand [Virtual] Date: Thursdays, January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1 Time: 6:30 - 7:00 PM Ages: 0+ Cost: Free Location: SPL Online Sometimes, we don’t know what to say when talking about illness, death, incarceration, and other topics. This series of storytimes tackles tough topics for kids through books and songs. There will be a Q&A after. Registration is not required. Please refer to the calendar to view the specific topic for each session.
