City Of Vallejo to Open Warming Shelter At The Norman C. King Center

The National Weather Service is reporting the potential for "extreme weather" on Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25. Due to the extreme weather conditions, the City of Vallejo will open an overnight warming shelter for those seeking respite from the weather from Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25, from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am at our GVRD partner location, the Norman C. King Community Center, located at 545 Magazine Street in Vallejo.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners at SolTrans, those seeking transportation to and from the warming shelter will be provided with a free bus ride by simply mentioning to the driver that they are "traveling to or from the Vallejo warming shelter."
Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring their own blankets, although there will be a limited number of blankets and pillows available. In addition, participants will be limited to bringing in one small bag of personal items as space is limited.

Join us on Saturday, March 25, as we honor Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
After the brief ceremony, bumper stickers, lapel pins, buttons, presidential proclamations, etc. supplied by the Department of Defense will be distributed. Rebuilding Together Solano County will also distribute Safe-At-Home Disaster Kits for veterans living in Solano County.
