Communication & Engagement Key issues:
• Vibrations from sheet piling in front apartments at 22 Beresford Square caused concerns for some residents. • The co-ordination of concrete deliveries, as well as contractor parking, caused some frustration in Beresford Square.
• Lighting around Beresford Square has been raised as a safety concern by stakeholders. • Utility repair works at the Beresford Square / Samoa House Lane intersection requires the closure of the lane from 10am – 4pm for approximately three weeks. • Contractor parking on Canada Street caused issues for key stakeholders.

Communication & Engagement Focus areas:
• Engagement with local guerilla graffiti artist, Chris Stapp regarding the establishment of a ‘Jam Wall’ adjacent to Mercury Theatre. • Promotion and refinement of the third Beresford Square market as part of the KBA ‘Karangahape Hour’ for music month on 3 June.
• ‘In-kind’ sponsorship of the Cross Street Festival on 10 April through assistance with traffic management. • Fortnightly public site tours continue with high attendance. Internal ‘PPE tour’ for Engineering NZ Transport Group greatly received.
• Planning underway for STEM initiative with local schools. A presentation with female engineers is at Auckland Girls’ Grammar is planned for June. • Recycled laptop donated to Karangahape Road community journalist and identity, Six.

Business support & Funding : Introduction
• The Small Business Support Programme has been designed specifically for small businesses to help adapt their business during construction. • In addition to existing central government funding (e.g. Regional business partner network, Tourism Transition fund) businesses can apply for funding of up to $2000.00 towards a range of support. • Applications for financial support outside of the categories will be considered on a caseby-case basis, with assessment from the external business engagement specialist.
Micro grants areas of support: • Marketing & Promotion specialist support
Social media strategic planning, implementation and analytics; or Content Marketing strategic planning, implementation, and analytics; or Search Engine Optimisation strategic planning, implementation, and analytics; or • Outdoor dining infrastructure: • Business adaptation & innovation support
Business impact analysis of business systems and operations Development of innovative and creative ideas for solving construction or business loss
related problems Digital adaptation such as point of sale, e-commerce, digital business tools
Micro grants areas of support (continued): Activation: • Event development and delivery of an activation or event within proximity of the local business
• Marketing and promotion support for an activation or event, as part of an area wide destination marketing initiatives
Wellbeing: • Private therapy • Mindfulness training • Yoga sessions, or other identified activities within the wellbeing category
Eligibility for Business support & Funding : Karangahape Road Station Area • Businesses are eligible to apply for 1 round of funding per annum • Small businesses employing fewer than 10 full-time equivalent employees or contractors. • Business needs to commercially operate as a retail and/or hospitality business • Business is situated on the ground or first floor of the building • The successful business applicant completes a Link Alliance quarterly survey • The business support must complement a specific business campaign as listed in one of the six categories above (e.g product promotion, sale, new product, new menu)
• Business support approval is at the sole discretion of the Link Alliance, with an annual review of the funding
