Designation Alteration to Britomart
A Brief History of Britomart
• Train terminus removed to Beach Rd in 1930s and redeveloped as bus depot • Mid 90s - ACC extended designation to provide large underground new rail / bus terminus and carpark (6 levels) • Proposal later abandoned by ACC • Public and stakeholder consultation followed by design competition in 2000 • Operative designation amended in 2001 to reflect final design • ACC reviewed Britomart designation in 2003/4 and amended again to reflect ‘as built’ situation. • Construction conditions removed

• AT to seek an alteration to the Britomart Transport Centre designation 314 to provide for: - Works to the CPO - Temporary works at the rear of the Glasshouse - Operation change from a terminus to a through station • Align of construction conditions with CRL designations • Alteration will provide surety to surrounding owners and occupiers that construction and operational effects are managed • Lodgement of application for alteration planned in late April 2015 • Consultation with affected parties will be undertaken

Transport - Conclusions There is an established way of approach transport appraisal based on straight line growth forecasts and values of time with fixed population and employment patterns, but it is not clear that it reflects what actually happens

Albert Street from Customs to Wyndham Street – C2 Downtown Shopping Centre (DSC) •
DSC developed as a laneway retail development and 36-level tower, constructing the CRL below. Work due to begin mid-2016 with completion by 2019
