Qs and As
Will there be staged openings of each station?
Currently there is no plan for staged station openings and the whole link will open at the same time.
What are the panels made of?
The panels for the front of the front of the Mercury Lane structure is reinforced concrete.
How many stories?
We believe three stories but that is down to Panuku. We will get back to you on that.
Who is responsible for the public realm around the stations?
As it stands, the space from Karangahape Road down Mercury, just south of Cross Street, is under the project.
Regarding complaints, does vibration have any affect on neighbouring properties?
We have consenting limits we must adhere to. Where we have recordings/monitors, we investigate any exceedances that occur. So far, no exceedances from our works have contributed to property damage.
We have a group of people dedicated to investigations and we submit all reports to council.
Will you do a time lapse sequence for Beresford Square at some point?
Yes, we will when the Beresford Square entrance structure is built.
Will there be air going through the slots in the artistic stack (at Beresford Square?
Yes, there will be.
Who are the architects?
Grimshaw are the architects, and a local artist has designed the vents in Beresford Square.
Do you have a render of what will be on the Hopetoun side of the square?
Not currently but I can tell you there will be a third vent stack, a tree grove, a bike shed, a service block and the emergency exit will all be at the eastern side of the Beresford Square area of construction.
By tree grove you mean plant a load of trees?
Yes, essentially in a large tree box.
How will people with bikes go between the platform tunnels and the surface?
Cyclist will be able to use the lift.
