Helpful hints for this virtual meeting • During this meeting, the presenters will not be able to see or hear you, but you’ll be able to watch and listen to them

• On the right hand-side of your screen there is a question panel. We encourage you to write questions or comments for our presenters as the meeting progresses • We’d appreciate it if you could use your name and possibly which local street you live or work on when you submit your question or comment • Please note that your comment won’t appear to all viewers until we publish it •

If you’re asking a question about a specific slide in tonight’s presentation, it would be helpful if you could take note of that slide number so we can bring it back up on screen to refer to if need be.

Meet Your Stations! CRL is formally naming its stations with the four te reo names gifted by the project’s Mana Whenua Forum. These names were publicly released in early May alongside the final design renders. Both the names and the designs are a unique expression of cultural identity connecting people and place – an outcome that is distinctly Tāmaki Makaurau. •

Waitematā Station (Britomart)

Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea)

Karanga a Hape Station (Karangahape)

Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden)

Timeline

• Public naming announcement early May • Naming submission to the New Zealand Geographic Board in late May

• Official decision expected in late 2022

Why formally name the stations?

Reflect significant geographic features around stations

Strengthen and deepen the stations’ connection to place

Enhance cultural narratives reflected in the design of stations and their urban surrounds

Speech •

Educate the wider-public about another aspect of Auckland’s history

Honour our treaty of Waitangi obligations
