Fenton Street Bridge – recap of final designs
53
54
55
Stair installation
56
Lift shaft installation
57
Lift design & privacy
• The two sides of the lift cart will be solid, which means no one can see into the apartments when using the lifts.
• The red, white and black part of the lift’s glass will be opaque with the blue part being clear
58
Bridge lighting
7 Light posts will be positioned along the length of the bridge
• Lighting into the apartments was considered in the design process
• Light posts have been designed to face down, away from the apartments.
59
•
Bridge design & privacy
• The barriers along the main span of the bridge are 1.8m tall
• The barriers are however taller at both ends of the bridge, nearest to the elevators to provide additional privacy
• Opacity of the bridge glass increases the closer you reach the end of the bridge (around 90% opacity) – this is for privacy, so there is no direct view into the apartment.
