Mercury Lane - Progress and highlights since March’s CLG – Eva Brosius Images and information on the construction of the B7 slab, station wall, and the northern and southern arch. Mined Tunnels – Progress and highlights since March’s CLG – Jonty Duncan An overview and images from the progress made in the tunnels. Over the last 3 months we poured approx. 4000m3 of concrete and installed approx. 300 tonnes of reinforcement. Beresford Square - Progress and highlights since March’s CLG – Michael Coup Within Beresford Square station box, the western section of the station slabs complete. Blockwork is well underway; pours have taken place on B7 and preparation for the TBM is underway. Mercury Lane superstructure – Jonathan Hill The construction of the superstructure began the week before and the structures height can be seen from the beams that have already been put in place – which are basically the skeleton of the structure.
Q and As Q. There is a drain on Hopetoun Street near St James Street that has a sock around it but sometimes that makes it flood. Right now it’s only half covered. Does it need more protection? A. This doesn’t seem to be within the catchment area of our site, but Kate will go check it out first thing in the morning.
Q. Can the urban realm be carried out at the same time as the fit out? A. In short, no. About 90% of the fit out needs to be complete before urban realm can start because the access to the stations below ground is needed via the current openings to get the materials below ground.
