• East end just started, progressing well.
• Construction works update Aruna Mylvaganam (AM), Construction Manager
• South wall tunnel floor and roof reinforcing starter bars and scabbling
• Attendee: Concerned about earth movement and reports feeling tremors/vibrations.
• RJ: Stated that there should not be earth movement at this stage in the project all bulk excavation at the western end of Waitematā Station was completed as part of the Contract 1 (C1) works
• Constructed in stages to avoid disruption to station and passengers between September 2022 and April 2023.
• Overhead (track electrification) main works start in October in the tunnels.
• Attendee: Our understanding was that vibration would be monitored for the entire CRL project.
• More concrete now planned to be delivered from Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) rather than Britomart
• Attendee: Expressed surprised there is no vibration monitoring for the CPO building.
• Night delivery of rails by train into tunnels and deliveries of other material from Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea) started on 1 August.
• Track construction works from the end of platform 1 will last until the end of September most concrete works starting in September (then move to platform 5 after September).
• Attendee: Expressed concerns about Endean Building’s Kauri pile foundations.
• RJ: Confirms CRL is no longer doing any heavy civil works that may affect ground water levels and therefore the building piles.
Rail & tunnel works: track material delivery underway

• Stage 2: Put new track arrangement in place and then concrete around it.
• Stage 1: Fill the tunnel base with concrete up to a certain level
ITEM UPDATE/ACTIONS
• RJ: Talked to this phase of works being underground and not involving heavy impact or loads being dropped in a way that would cause ground borne vibration. Any disruption neighbours may experience would likely be from surface level construction support activity i.e., the noise of trucks.
• For stage 1, all concrete truck deliveries have been made from the Albert St end rather than Tyler St. Therefore the works have been less disruptive than the originally discussed plan.
Questions
• MP: Directed attendee to contact the team (0800 CRL TALK (275 8255) – option 1) if worried and would like to confirm if it is related to CRL construction or one of the other projects happening in the area.
• KG: Confirmed the Link Alliance Waitematā Station (Britomart) works will not cause vibration issues, ground settlement or building movement due to a lack of heavy earthworks in programme therefore there is no need for vibration monitoring.
• Enabling works concrete base slab completed from Te Wai Horotiu Station (Aotea), CRL line.
• Concrete track form to be constructed.
• KG: Reiterated none of the construction activities carried out by Link Alliance have an impact on vibration as there is no excavation occurring. Noise is monitored and investigations can be made if something is heard while movement is felt. Agreed to supply C1’s final monitoring report and information about ongoing monitoring to Endeans tenants.
RJ spoke to the concrete delivery process that was in discussion last year with neighbours.
Monitoring
KG spoke to the environmental impacts and mitigations specific to works happening in Waitematā Station (Britomart).
• Traffic access and parking.
• Objective is to identify and provide for implementation of the Best Practicable Option (BPO) to minimise construction noise to avoid, remedy or mitigate adverse effects from the project
• MP leads the communications on these works and is the contact for any queries and concerns.

• Noise.
• Concrete and cement related products are extremely toxic to aquatic life.
• The lime in concrete and cement dissolves in water to produce an alkaline solution (increase pH >10) that can burn and kill fish, insects, and plants
• Attendee: Expressed concerns about noise mats having little to no effect to tenants above the second floor as sound is funneled upward.
• Electric where possible
Spill management concrete pours, fuel/diesel
• Noise mats, equipment selection i.e., selecting quieter machines, and mitigation
ITEM UPDATE/ACTIONS
• 24/7 noise monitor

Environmental considerations
• Construction plant
• Long term at 148 Quay Street
• Working with concrete
Construction Noise Management Plan
• Environmental risks have lessen for this part of the project as the works are contained and in the tunnels
• Stated none of the activities for these works have vibration concerns, and that the main concern regarding impacts on neighbours is noise.
• Attended monitoring measure noise in real time when starting a new activity/using new machinery.
• Link Alliance strives to be a good project neighbour by ensuring all workers on site do not shout or use radios and are courteous when they go to and from site.
• Services and maintained plant
Managing Noise
• KG: Thanked attendee for the feedback and agreed to escalate the issue with the team for a possible resolution
• Spill management.
• Spill equipment is available in the event of a spill
• Staff are trained to prevent spills
No further questions.
• Emergency service vehicle access
• NL: Yes, during September.
ITEM UPDATE/ACTIONS
• The safe movement of pedestrians along Tyler St
• Objectives of this plan:
• Attendee: Is there an environmental advisor for the Martinus works happening at Britomart Place?
Questions
• KG: Yes.
• Attendee: Is the white cover on the CPO coming down?
Traffic management construction management traffic plan
• General traffic, including deliveries
• Access to adjacent properties, ensure people are not parking on Tyler St in a way that disrupts access
