The hotel is just a few years old and represents excellent value for money. There are 381 bedrooms in total, most with sea-view.

Nick Faldo’s first design in Turkey is already much admired and feared by novice golfers.

There are three loops of nine holes set in a pine forest with a broad dune ridge running through the centre. The many elevated tees and greens and water hazards encourage accurate iron play.

This is an excellent addition to the courses on offer and a firm favourite with low handicappers.

The Sueno opened last winter and is already proving very popular.

The hotel has 174 rooms and suites and is just a Par-four away from a sandy beach. Each bedroom is very spacious and comes complete with the latest mod-cons including plasma satellite TV, internet and golf-view balconies.

Testing design Fast greens

Measuring over 7000 yards from the back tees, this is the tougher of the two courses.

The course cuts through a forest of mature pines, with a number of lakes and greenside bunkers protecting the greens. The course opens up with a fairly easy Par-5 but don’t relax too much or the holes around the turn will catch you out! Designed by PGA Design Consulting and certainly worth playing at least twice during your stay.

Just 20 minutes outside Antalya in one of the most picturesque corners of the Riviera, lies The Kempinski Hotel The Dome.

The Susesi Deluxe Resort & Spa has a total of 628 rooms including suites and villas. These are all very spacious and decorated in contemporary design. Suitable for all levels, the Pasha is the shorter course but by no means a stroll in the park.

It will test your skills with a combination of different challenges. Tricky dog-legs, cleverlyplaced bunkers and undulating greens will ensure that even the more experienced golfer must think over each shot carefully. The fairways are fairly generous but beware the lakes! 20 miles from Antalya.

Sculpted fairways, glistening white bunkers and velvet greens, the National was the first international-standard golf club on the Turkish Mediterranean coast.

Carved through a forest of eucalyptus and pine trees and with a backdrop of snowcapped mountains and an abundance of natural lakes, the National will test and please players of all abilities. 20 miles from Antalya.

With a backdrop of towering umbrella pines, crystal clear lakes and the snow-capped Taurus mountains, this is a spectacular course.

The prevailing breezes off the Mediterranean Sea will provide golfers with Turkey’s first links challenge.

There are four holes running along the sea which demand skilled shots and the finishing 18th with mounds on the left and a turtle back green will require the golfer to approach the green with caution.

This course requires ‘punch and run’ shots and intelligent play to avoid all the trademark Pete Dye hazards.

Colin Montgomerie’s first design in Turkey was certainly worth the wait.

Opened in September 2008, the course winds its way through mature pine forests and sand dunes. It’s a very fine test of golf, sure to be enjoyed by all.
