Three skiing tracks for beginners and professionals are housed under one roof. The total length. Total length of tracks is of 1,100 metres.

28. Parnidžio Dune * Neringa, Klaipėda County * www.visitneringa.com * This is the highest dune of Nida. There is a sun clock at the top of it, part of which was destroyed by hurricane Anatolijus in 1999. You can go to the dune along a 1,800 metre long path viewing a wide range of plants, lichens, fungi, insects and birds.

9. Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre * A. The repertoire covers a lot of classical ballets - not every theatre in Europe can boast about that.

Walk up the five Kernavė mounds where the people lived even in the Stone Age. The first capital of Lithuania was located on the hills in the thirteenth century, which are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In Šiauliai, you will be met by “A Sun Boy”, the time will be shown by the Sun clock, “Sun Disk” fountain will refresh you on a hot summer day, and the monument and stained glass created in memory of the Sun Battle in 1236 will delight the eye.

In Neringa, feast your eyes on the fantastic moving world of dunes, breath in the pinewood, meet the sunrise from Curonian Lagoon and see the sun off into the sea. This tongue of land of unique beauty is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the oldest Lithuanian city of Klaipėda, listen how the history speaks having gotten lost in the narrow streets, visit “Taravos Anikė” grieving in the Theatre Square and gorge yourself at the annual Sea Festival.

In Kaunas, walk along Laisvės Avenue, wander among spruce houses of the previous century and travel up to the picturesque hill by the old cable railway of Žaliakalnis, which is one of the oldest operating funiculars in Europe. 30. Near the manor there is a large English style park. 31. Riding Service Centre of Kurtuvėnai Regional Park * Parko St 2, Kurtuvėnai, Šiauliai dist * Tel. +370640 33444 * www.kurtuva.lt * The centre operates in the former stables of Kurtuvėnai manor. Currently, more than 30 horses are kept and trained here. When riding, you will complete the route within 1-5 hours and you will see the most beautiful places in Kurtuvėnai Regional Park.

Vilnius Cathedral Basilica of Saints Stanislaus and Vladislaus * Cathedral Sq. 1, Vilnius * Tel. +370 5 261 0731 * www.katedra.lt * This is the most famous shrine in Lithuania, built in 1251 on the site of a former pagan temple in commemoration of the baptism of King Mindaugas. The architect Laurynas Stuoka Gucevičius gave the church classical features in the XVIII century.

Ensemble of St. Anne and St. Francis from Assisi (Bernardine) churches * Maironio St. 8-1, 10, Vilnius * Tel. +370682 40216 * http://vilnius.lcn.lt * According to legend, Napoleon Bonaparte wanted to take St Anne’s Church, which is built in the late Gothic style, back to Paris with him on his palm. St. Francis from Assisi church was built nearby at the end of the fifteenth Century, and was part of the defense system of the city. 4. Vilnius Castle Complex * Arsenalo St. 5, Vilnius * Tel. +370 5 261 7453 * www.lnm.lt * The complex consists of the Upper and Lower Castles. A panoramic view of Vilnius, with the white Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania beneath and the red roofs of the Old Town opens up from Gediminas Tower. 5. Architectural ensemble of Vilnius University * Universiteto St. 3, Vilnius * Tel. +370 5 268 7003 * www.vu.lt * Vilnius University, covering the entire block between St. John, S. Skapo and University streets is one of the oldest and most famous Central and Eastern universities. The University was founded in 1579. The ensemble is famous for its twelve enclosed yards, The Church of St. John and the tallest bell tower in the city.

Kernavė Mounds *Kerniaus St. 4A, Kernavė, Širvintos dist * Tel. +370 382 47385 * www.kernave.org * The five mounds area - is the place of the first capital of Lithuania and the largest defence complex of mounds in the Baltic States. It is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 12. Castle of Trakai Island * Kęstučio 4, Trakai * Tel. +370 53 528 940 * www.trakaimuziejus.lt * Lithuanian Grand Duke Kęstutis started to build the castle on the island in the fourteenth century, and it was completed by his son Vytautas in the fifteenth century. Enemies never conquered this castle. The castle became the residence of the Duke after the Battle of Grunwald (1410) when the Teutonic Knights were overwhelmed.

In Trakai, feast your eyes from the ship deck of the Castle of the fourteenth century reddening on the island, snack on the kibinai of Karaites and discover that the lands of Lithuania stretched to the Black Sea during the times of the castle lord - Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas.

19. House of Perkūnas * Aleksotas St. 6, Kaunas * Tel. +370620 30881 * www.perkunonamas.lt * Perkūnas was the eldest of the Lithuanian pagan Gods - the ruler of the sky and thunder. The stone house from the fifteenth century is one of the most perfect and original monuments of late Gothic style in Lithuania. As many as 16 different profiles of bricks were used for its original facade. 20. The National Art Museum of M. K. Čiurlionis * B. Putvinskis St. 55, * Kaunas * Tel. +370 372 29475 * www.ciurlionis.lt * Almost all creative heritage of genial Lithuanian artist M. K. Čiurlionis (1875-1911) is stored in this museum. He was the first Lithuanian to take the plunge into abstract art and combined music and painting while looking for a unique Lithuanian style – his painting reflected music and he painted music. 21. Kaunas State Musical Theatre * Laisvės Ave 91, Kaunas * Tel. +370 37200633 * www.muzikinisteatras.lt * The hall of Kaunas State Musical Theatre is associated with the names of legendary Lithuanian drama actors, opera soloists and ballet artists. Professional Lithuanian theatre art was born and existed here during the entire inter-war period of Lithuanian independence. 22. Birštonas Mound (Vytautas Hill) * Birštonas * Tel. +370 319 65 740 * www.visitbirstonas.lt * The 40m high mountain of Vytautas overlooking the Nemunas is one of the highest mounds in the country. At the end of the XIV century, there was a wooden castle, which was the defensive system of the Duchy of Trakai and one of the hunting estates of Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas.

6. Television Tower * Sausio 13 St. 10, Vilnius * Tel. +370 5 252 5333 * www.lrtc.lt * This is one of the tallest (326.5 m) buildings in Eastern Europe. The first floor contains a photo exhibition dedicated to 14 people killed during the tragic events of January 1991. The crosses and monuments at the entrance symbolize the country’s struggle for independence. There is a restaurant and a rotating observation deck (at a height of 165 m) on the upper ring of the building.

23. Rumšiškių Folk Museum * J. Aisčio St. 2, Rumšiškės, Kaišiadorių dist * Tel. +370 346 47233 * www.llbm.lt * The museum situated on the bank of Kaunas Lagoon and opened in 1974 occupies an area of 175 ha. There are about 100 folk architecture monuments. The exhibition is divided into ethnographic areas where you see particular region-specific buildings, interior, household items, clothing.

7. Lithuanian National Museum * Arsenalo St. 1, Vilnius * Tel. +370 5 262 7774 * www.lnm.lt * It is the largest and oldest repository of Historic Cultural Heritage in Lithuania. The Museum stores archaeological, historic and ethnic culture collections of Lithuania.

24. Raudonė Castle * Raudonė, Jurbarkas dist * Tel. +370 51 345 262 * www.jurbarkas.lt * The castle was built in the sixteenth century. The red castle towers are fascinating in the evening, and there is a view overlooking the Nemunas river from the 33.5 metre high tower.

Užutrakis Mansion and Park * Užtrakio St. 5, Trakai * Tel. +370 528 21 707 * www.seniejitrakai.lt * Užutrakis mansion of historicism style was built under the project by the famous architect Joseph Huss from Warsaw in 1897-1902 and belonged to the Counts Tyskiewicz before the Second World War. The park near the mansion was designed by the architect E. F Andre. 14. Grūtas Park * Grūtas, Druskininkai * Tel. +370 55 313 511 * www.grutoparkas.lt * 86 Soviet idols - statues that once stood in the cities of the country now stand near Druskininkai, in the wetlands within an area of 20 ha. Here you will see Lenin, Joseph Stalin, and many other well-known faces from history. There is a café where you can taste Soviet dishes from Soviet wares. 15. Druskininkai Aqua Park * Vilniaus Ave 13, Druskininkai * Tel. +370 313 52338 * www.akvapark.lt * Meet the waves in the sea wave pool, try to cope with the river current. 20 baths equipped according to the traditions of different countries: 9 dry baths (saunas), 10 steam baths and Turkish hammam are waiting for you!

Pinewoods sough, seven springs of mineral water spurt and 9 sanatoria are active in the mineral water resort of Druskininkai - do not miss the chance to enjoy fresh air, curative baths and medical peloid masks.

There are five cascade ponds in the park. 26. Palanga Amber Museum * Vytauto St. 17, Palanga * Tel. +370 46051319 * www.pgm.lt * The mansion is situated in the Birutė forest, near the Baltic Sea and was considered to be sacred. The counts Tyskiewicz established their residence here in 1897 and stored a valuable collection of amber. It can be seen at the operating Amber Palace Museum. 27. Thomas Mann Memorial Museum * Skruzdynės St. 17, Nida Neringa * Tel. +370 46952260 * www.mann.lt * Under the feather of Thomas Mann, the Nobel Prize winner, one of the most famous litterateurs of the twentieth century, the works “Joseph and his brothers”, the essay “My summer house”, articles “What we must insist on”, “Language to young people”, “Velzungų blood” were created in Nida.

32. The Hill of Crosses * Jurgaičių vil., Šiauliai dist * Tel. +370 41 370 860 * www.kryziukalnas.lt * About 12 kilometres northward of Šiauliai, in the fields, there is a small oblong hill where more than 200 thousand crosses stand. All of them were brought and set by the people of Lithuania. Lithuanian cross crafting tradition is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 33. Burbiškis Manor and Park * Burbiškio vil., Pakalniškės, Radviliškio dist * Tel. +370 422 42001 * www.muziejai.lt * The history exposition of Burbiškis Manor was established in Baženskių estate known since the seventeenth century. The Manor Park covers the area of 28 ha, and is distinguished by spectacular ponds containing 15 islands. 34. Fachwerk House of Klaipėda * Klaipėda old town * www.klaipedainfo.lt * Klaipėda will whiff by an old German spirit as it is the city built by the Crusaders. It was first mentioned in 1252, by the name of Memelburg. A special feature of Klaipeda is Fachwerk houses. Such a way of building was popular here in the first half of the nineteeth century. 35. Šiluva Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Chapel * M. Jurgaičio St 2, Šiluva, Raseinių dist * Tel. +370428 79200 * www. siluva.lt * The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary has taken place in Šiluva in mid-September for almost 500 years. It is said that Blessed Virgin Mary manifested to shepherds here in 1608. Therefore, the town is flooded with pilgrims during the feast. It also has the Pilgrim Center. This place was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1993. 36. Ventė Cape and ornithological station of Ventė Cape * Ventė, Kintų ward, Šilutės dist * Tel. +370 441 68516 * www.siluteinfo.lt * This is one of the best places to observe migrating birds in Europe. Ventė Cape operates a bird ringing station, and there is an old lighthouse. Ornithologists from Lithuania and abroad converge here every year. 37. Urbas Hill * Neringa town, Nida Forestry * www.visitneringa. com * Nida is protected by two high dunes with pine trees. One of them is Urbas hill. There is an old Nida lighthouse and an observation deck on it.
