DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE: Florida’s Tallest Building Purposed Written By: Jason Massengill
A local investment firm is proposing the construction of a 1,000 foot observation tower in Jacksonville, which would make the city home to the tallest structure in Florida. The project, called Seaglass Tower, was pitched today by Ponte Vedra-based Killashee Investments, LLC, to the
board of Jacksonville's Police & Fire Pension Fund. The tower is just one part of a complex of buildings proposed for the city's downtown Shipyards property. The former industrial site on the St. Johns River has about 30 acres of land and 10 additional acres underwater.

Dirty Dolls: The Burlesque Show Written By: David W. Vandygriff
What can someone expect when attending one of your shows? Male & female perspectives? For me, the show is about much more than just being sexy. The Dirty Dolls Revue is first and foremost about creating a unique performance… which happens to be a striptease as well. Each of my entertainers has her own style, character, aesthetic. We’re also a Neo-Burlesque troupe which means that our style, music, narratives etc. are more contemporary and relevant to our audience. I do book girls who specialize in Classic Burlesque, but there are still
Why? It depends on how we’re defining “exciting”. Performing at large-scale events like Pensacola Pride or Boston Pride is always exciting. Looking across and audience of hundreds of people is really an indescribable feeling. On the other hand, the Savannah Dirty Dolls Shows are much more intimate, but they’re exciting because this is where I usually premier my new numbers. Who makes up the Dirty Dolls? How did you all come together? I met most of the girls while performing at other events and venues. They each fulfill two main qualifications: I had to be impressed with their performance and impressed with their personality. I think that’s one of the most significant things about my troupe, the girls are all beautiful and talented but they’re also a lot of fun to work with. My two favorite Dolls, Ivy Les Vixen and Katie James both run their own troupes, so we’ll also recommend girls to each other. Getting a good recommendation from either of them is the same as having a great audition for me.
Club One. There, I met Drag King, Spikey Van Dykey who booked me for my first burlesque performance at Pensacola Pride for Kristy Lee’s Memorial Day Unleashed. I was addicted to it immediately.
Why, if any, do you think you style of entertainment appeals more to the lesbian crowd than Drag Kings?I think that both appeal to different parts of the lesbian audience. Kings embrace androgyny and masculinity and Burlesque is about being feminine, seductive How did you become involved and curvy. Both are entertaining in the entertainment industry? and sexy in their own ways, it I’ve always been onstage and just depends on what you’re into. element of their show that have loved performing. and the burlesque shows have been held there for about seven months. I think people come back for each show because it’s always different. Even when we have the same line-up of entertainers, the costumes, music and performances are new and exciting. I’m also always trying to outdo the previous performance. Before one show has concluded, I already thinking of what I can do to make the next performance even more impressive.
who follow us. We certainly enjoy the diversity. My ideal career is what I’m doing but one a much larger scale, performance, visual arts and directing the troupe.
Guys attend your shows as well. How hard are the straight guys that attend your shows to handle? Are the normal respectful? Club One is known as an LGBT Venue. Most of the straight guys who would be disrespectful of the performers are probably not comfortable Your ideal venue, audience, going into a gay bar to begin and career would be? I’d love with. The guys at our shows seem to be on their best behavior. They just keep handing their girlfriend/wife money to tip the performers. So everyone’s happy: the performers get to tease hot straight girls; the guys get to see a sexy show without getting bitched at later; and the straight girls, well, they get a glimpse of that fantasy they were “always curious about but never tried”. You’re welcome, ladies.
the world and themself in a different way. On a more personal level, Chicago celesbian, Tamale Sepp was a significant influence early on… multi-talented, witty and confident. I was in high school when I met her (buying my first pair of platform boots, appropriately enough) and it was the first time I saw what it took to be a successful entertainer.
Not a well known bit of information is that you really are an artist. What types of paintings do you do most? Why? I paint representational still life and portraiture. My latest paintings are of objects that I find interesting, particularly machinery that I unearthed in scrap metal lots and junk yards. These objects are rendered with the highest degree of detail using a sophisticated technique derived from the Baroque Bridging the gap between Masters. Starting a New Business: Part Two Written By: Gordon T. Nicol, Atty
To start a new business there are significant legal issues. This topic is crucial and will have several parts. This is the first part of the series. For the initial concept formation and research: You may think you have a wonderful idea that is unique and are ready to move forward. You get money from friends and family; you begin working on the “product” or “idea” spending weeks, months or possibly years perfecting. You are now ready to launch your product or idea. A week after you have begun your business you get a letter in the mail called a “cease and desist notice.” The notice informs you that your business is in violation of some or many specific issues and that you must stop or the other party may file a law suit. You have no idea what happened, you have to hire an attorney asap and get involved in a very expensive legal battle. By this time, you have spent all of your friends and family money, mortgaged your house and have no way of funding the potential litigation. In developing a product or idea there are a number of critical legal concerns, including but not limited to, the following. You had developed a product -What could you have done to protect

So while I am a huge advocate of keeping things simple during the summer months (mainly because I am primarily concerned with other things, like sun dresses and ice cream), here at cityXtra we’re all about providing tips on how to stand out from the pack. And although there is definitely a time and a place for t-shirt and shorts, there are plenty of simple tweaks you can make to your look this season in order to cope with the heat in style… 1. A More Relaxed Fit This may seem a bit counter intuitive when it comes to maintaining your style during a heatwave, but hear me out. Yes, fit is king. However, there are varying degrees of what can be considered ‘good fit’. Menswear is currently seeing a resurgence of a fuller, more masculine cut for clothing, and this is ideal for hot summers.
2. Popover Shirts Following on from a more relaxed fit, there is one item in a man’s wardrobe that was made to be worn a little looser: the popover shirt. For the beginners, a popover style is simply a front
