Holiday Season

Making connections that count this holiday season and throughout the New Year! On behalf of all of our more than 600 Charter employees in Upstate South Carolina, I’m pleased to wish our community a happy holiday season and prosperous New Year. We are appreciative of the continued support of over 200,000 area customers throughout 2009 – and we’re working hard to make 2010 an even better year for us all. We’re focused on connecting you with the people, information and entertainment that brings your home to life. From On Demand and HD programming to faster internet speeds, Charter provides the best products and services available. Now we even offer guaranteed two-hour windows on most scheduled visits, plus 24/7 technical assistance at 888-GET-CHARTER. But the Charter commitment to our community doesn’t end there. Part of our organization’s culture is the concept of being a good neighbor – the ideals of volunteerism and philanthropy, generosity with our time, talents and other resources. So we take an active role in social, environmental and community concerns through hands-on participation, financial support, and donated services. We believe that being a good neighbor – and having great customers like you – makes this a uniquely great place to live, work and call home. Thank you for being a part of our success! ANTHONY POPE

FOCUS ON PHILANTHROPY Charter Communications gives generously to local community Tuning in to the community is all in a day’s work at Charter Communications. The company offers the Upstate’s most reliable cable, high-speed Internet and home telephone service, of course; but what truly sets them apart is a dedicated focus on philanthropy. “Corporate citizenship is a core value at Charter,” according to Brooke Sinclair, director of sales and marketing. “We work to take an active role in social, environmental and community concerns that make a difference in the lives of others.” Thus, Charter provides abundant financial support as well as in-kind donations to a diverse array of civic and charitable endeavors in the Upstate, with major sponsorships of events such as a CarolinaClemson Pep Rally benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters, Larkin’s Rhythm on the River/ Rescue the Rhythm benefiting public middle school music programs, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Let There Be Mom, to name a few. The beneficiaries list is intentionally eclectic – indeed, Sinclair says, the company doesn’t want to limit corporate giving with any pre-set parameters. “We focus on issues of all kinds, issues that are important to all people,” she explains. “It’s important to us to be involved in a wide range of organizations, to give back in as many ways as possible.” This community is diverse, so Charter’s philanthropy is, too. “We want to touch everybody,” Sinclair says. Charter’s 600-plus local employees are fully engaged in the company’s “Good Neighbor” philosophy, too. They’re trained to be cooperative, helpful, trustworthy and resourceful when filling orders, processing requests and/or installing services, but such traits extend far beyond the office as these caring professionals donate thousands of hours to improving the community in which they live and work. Charter fosters employees’ individual voluntarism by promoting their efforts with spotlights in the corporate newsletter as well as rewarding outstanding outreach

MAKING A DIFFERENCE Charter Communications supported a diverse array of civic and charitable endeavors in 2009, including: • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate • BILO Center • The Chapman Foundation • Community Foundation Giving Back Awards • Greenville Drive • Hands on Greenville HOG Day • Harvest Hope Food Drive • I-Home benefitting Susan G. Koman • Larkin’s Rhythm on the River Rescue the Rhythm • Let There Be Mom • MLK Day/MLK Scholarships • SC Cyclocross Championships • Simpsonville Bombers • Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with plaques, luncheons and other perks. Employees serve causes such as medical research, affordable housing, poverty relief and education, while collective efforts have ranged from hosting food drives to playing in charity golf tournaments to landscaping at a local youth center. “Our Good Neighbor program encourages all employees to find ways to give back to the community,” Sinclair says. “We want them to participate in organizations that are meaningful to them.” In addition, Charter provides cable and Internet services to all public schools in its service areas. “It has always been Charter’s philosophy to be a positive participant in the communities we serve,” Sinclair says, emphasizing Charter’s commitment to giving back to the people who keep the company in business. “It’s our way of saying ‘Thank You!’”

As a long-time, very satisfied Charter customer, I feel as if I am receiving a thank you gift. This is wonderful, especially during this challenging time.” Sincerely, Joyce Stachura (Pictured above: Joyce Stachura, Charter customer, and Dean Cox, Technical Operations Manager, Asheville, NC.)

Charter Products & Services Enjoy LIVE sports programming on ESPN360.com What is ESPN360.com? ESPN360.com is a broadband network for live sports programming. ESPN360.com harnesses the quality ESPN has built through its TV networks and delivers online sports programming to fans through a rich, interactive, and easy-touse experience. ESPN360.com broadcasts thousands of live games and events online each year. A majority of the events are exclusive to ESPN360.com, while others are broadband-enhanced versions of games from one of ESPN’s TV networks.

What kind of programming does ESPN360.com offer? Each year ESPN360.com delivers thousands of live games and events like College Football and Basketball, NBA, MLB, UEFA Champions League Soccer, The Masters and US Open Golf, all 4 Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and more. Plus you get a fully interactive experience with real time in-game stats and scoreboards and live chat.

How long are games archived?

I heard that ESPN360.com is free on college campuses and military bases. Is this true? ESPN360.com is available free to fans accessing the site from a college campus in the United States or from a military base in the United States.

What type of Internet user are you? Charter has the High-Speed ® for you!

I have ESPN360.com at home, but don’t have access now. What should I do? Some high speed internet service providers give you access while away from home. You will need your username and password in order to log in and begin watching ESPN360.com.

Does ESPN360.com offer games from the GamePlan and/or FullCourt subscription packages? All GamePlan college football games and FullCourt college basketball games are now free through ESPN360.com to fans who subscribe to a participating broadband internet service provider. The college football and basketball lineup on ESPN360.com includes exclusive games, simulcasts of ESPN and ESPN2 games and many regional games from around the country. That’s more than 300 live college football games and more than 1000 live college basketball games this season.

Watch what you want, when you want with Charter On Demand!

Why is an event blacked out?

Games and events are available in ESPN360. com’s archives varying from 24 hours to more than a week, depending on the sport.

This is because the event that you requested is not available on ESPN360.com in your market. Blackouts apply to broadcasts that have been sold regionally or locally per league, conference and local rights holder agreements. Regional and local rights holders are usually broadcast stations or regional sports networks. Blackouts are implemented to protect the primary rights holder, as defined by the professional and college sports leagues or teams in a given market.

How do I get access to ESPN360.com? ESPN360.com is available nationwide, but you must subscribe to a participating high speed internet service provider – like CHARTER.
