Cycle World’s Project Honda CBR1000RR By Roland Sands Design for Ride for Kids Cycle World Magazine and Honda planted the seeds of this year’s Cycle World project bike 16 years ago when they teamed up to create a “Standard on Steroids” from a 1993 Honda CBR900RR. That machine opened many eyes to just how much fun could be had with comfy ergonomics and plenty of power – helping to spawn the naked bike movement still going strong today. With that in mind and in support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids® program, Honda offered a brand-new CBR1000RR for this year’s Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows bike drawing. The talented hands and minds of Roland Sands Design have pitched in to take the bike to an unprecedented level.

Show producer Advanstar and Cycle World have partnered to showcase this masterpiece at tour stops nationwide, highlighting a very cool motorcycle built for a very noble cause. This is the 10th consecutive year Cycle World has partnered with Ride for Kids® to create a unique motorcycle for the drawing, which has raised $502,910 to date! All proceeds benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF), which funds medical research and family support programs for children with brain tumors. Since 1984, Ride for Kids® has helped the PBTF raise more than $54 million. “This year’s project with Ride for Kids is another great opportunity for the team at RSD to help continue the fight against childhood brain tumors,” said Roland Sands of Roland Sands Design. “We started with an already amazing bike in the 2009 CBR1000RR and we

tied in the original Cycle World project street fighter. It’s a good opportunity to show the evolution of the street fighter as well as to continue our relationship with Cycle World and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.” “The fighting spirit of the kids and families who face the devastating diagnosis of a brain tumor is truly inspirational,” stated Corey Eastman, VP Brand Development for Cycle World. “The generosity of resources and time given by all involved in the Cycle World project bikes over the years is just a small token of the respect we all feel for these young fighters and their families.‘The Good Fight’ is perhaps the best named project yet as it describes their battle perfectly. It is also the bike each of us most wish we could keep in our garage!” “The continuing partnership with Roland Sands Design, American Honda, Cycle World and Advanstar has accelerated the important work being funded,” said National Ride for Kids® Director Kyle Clack. “Together we are providing hope and literally changing the

world. And everyone who donates for a ticket is a critical part of that.” The Good Fight will be given to a winner drawn at random on May 3, 2010. Tickets for a chance to win the Cycle World Project Bike by Roland Sands Design for Ride for Kids® will be sold at all 12 stops of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show series. Visit www.motorcycleshows.com to check out the show nearest you. Tickets are also available online at www.rideforkids.org or by phone at 800-253-6530.
