EVENTS & COMPETITIONS his Royal highness
The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex Greenville is making history with the arrival of HRH The Prince Edward, youngest son of Queen Elizabeth.
Great Scot! Parade A tremendous spectacle of over 90 Scottish-themed entries! We will have an incredible special guest, plus Miss America, Miss South Carolina, and Miss South Carolina Teen. You’ll see pipe bands from all over the South, our Scottish Fairy Godmother, the 42nd Highland Royal Regiment, clans from around the country marching with their colors, and our Honored Chief of the Games. We have a Kilt-on-a-Stilt, and even greyhounds in kilts! The Axe-Throwers will be handing out samples and a real Scottish Woods Faerie will be tossing pixie dust over the children. And much more.
Friday • 6 pm • Main Street, Greenville
Right after the parade…
The Great Scot! Ceilidh Presented by Kathryn Williams
This marks the first time a Senior Member of the British Royal Family has ever been here, and we are enormously proud the Prince will be in our Parade and at our Games. This is also the first time a Senior Member has ever been to a Scottish Games outside of Scotland, and we are ready for him, and you! Please join us to show him a Southern welcome!
Saturday • Furman University
Border Collies
The Border Collie Invitationals are back!
These participants are all American Border Collie Association registered dogs and will be among the finest teams in the East. It is a rare treat to watch handlers and their teams of this caliber demonstrate their skills; the level of performance will be extraordinary. This year, we’re adding sheep shearing demonstrations!
Saturday • All day from 8:15 am - 4 pm
Wee Scotland Lots of fun for the kids! We have kept the best of our attractions and added more, including a “Scottish Idol” puppet show starring some of our actual visitors to the Games! Have your children bring their favorite dolls and stuffed animals, and they can “Build-A-Kilt” to create MacDolls and MacBears! They will bounce around on the Scottish Battle Grounds and climb Scotland’s highest peak. They can make swords, shields and other kingly (or princely) items and participate in their own wee version of the athletics the really big guys are doing on the athletic fields.
Albannach is back! They are joining with Coyote Run to blast everybody with the most electric and exciting Celtic music on the planet.
Friday • 7 - 10 pm • Behind the Peace Center ADMISSION $5

EVENTS & COMPETITIONS
Demonstrators Oh boy, the demonstrators! These are the folks who give the Games flavor, texture, and fun, while sneaking in a little bit of education and culture as to what life was like for our Scottish forebears. Some of our demonstrators are interactive; you never know when the ability to throw an axe or weave a tartan might come in handy. Others will show you skills you might have acquired as part of clan life back in the day.
Bonnie Lad and Lassie Pageant An experience your child will never forget!
Your child will stand onstage with HRH Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth’s youngest son, and perform for him! Prince Edward is the father of two small children, and we are told he is particularly interested in our Games’ focus on teaching children about the Scottish heritage of the Upstate. We are the only children’s Scottish Heritage Pageant as far as we can determine, and we offer a real live Prince to boot! We are looking for a boy and girl who can represent the spirit of the Greenville Scottish Games as our Bonnie Lad and Lassie for this historic event. This year’s event will prove to be even more fun and exciting for the contestants. Your child will be able to attend Saturday’s Games and enjoy Wee Scotland.
Our re-enactors are here for you to enjoy and let your imagination transport you back in time a few hundred years.
