This project benefits the Institute for Tra nslational Oncolog y Research (ITOR), a part of the Ca ncer Center at Greenville Hospital Syste m University Medical Center. What a u nique opportu nity to raise much-needed fu nds for patients with ca ncer right here in our commu nity. One third of men a nd one quarter of women in the U.S. have had ca ncer, mea ning that nearly every fa mily in the nation has been affected by it. ITOR represents a new model in the war against this disease. With a vision to create a n international destination center that develops a nd delivers innovative, personalized ca ncer therapies for our neighbors a nd fa mily, ITOR is tra nsforming ca ncer For more information about ITOR, care on ma ny levels. The efforts of ITOR include a phase 1 Clinical Research Unit, biorepository services, a nd proteomics a nd genomics capa bilities in one location. Our goal is to expedite path-breaking research so that it ca n be applied more rapidly in clinical settings. We believe we are u niquely positioned to develop a cooperative model in the evolving field of oncolog y drug development. ITOR partners include leading pharmaceutical compa nies, research u niversities, private industry a nd the govern ment. At present, we have more tha n 30 partners a nd colla borators working every day for fa milies here in the Upstate. The 2011 Showcase Home has been a colla borative effort as well, from talented builder Chris Bailey of Stoneledge Properties to tea ms from Winn the F ight/Ju nior League who will serve as room hosts during the show. Designers Sarah Lynch (Jeff Lynch Design services), Rosanne Hamilton and Lauren Middlekauff (both of Carolina Furniture & Interiors) infused each suite with its own unique identity, while still maintaining a stylish cohesion.

Upstairs, you’ll find old Hollywood glamour mixing with the millennial generation in the spacious teen media loft. The Jeff Lynch design team had an urban chic oasis in mind when they laid out this fun competition space in greens and grays under portraits of movie stars. There’s plenty of room for playing video games on the 50-inch television, challenging a friend to a game of ping pong or entertaining friends.

Get ready to rumble! This Jeff Lynch-designed home gym has everything you need to stay fit and motivated, including plenty of privacy and space. Whether you’re perfecting your tae kwon do skills on the mat or pumping some iron on the equipment provided by Pro Fitness of Greenville, you can keep an eye on your workout with the wall-to-wall mirrors.

DON’T MISS: The glamorous black chandelier, which maintains the art studio’s own special identity while echoing the home’s consistent design feature of chandeliers.

Get inspired in the home’s art studio, affectionately dubbed The Diva Depot (Jeff Lynch). A handpainted mural lends the space a creative vibe, while the Gladiator GarageWorks ® system provides practical project storage. The phrase “the great outdoors” takes on a whole new meaning here. Sneak out for a secluded getaway in the spa or by the peaceful Koi pond, which features a serene waterfall that feeds the pool provided by Hot Springs Pools & Spas. The fullyequipped outdoor cooking station offers a chance for any aspiring chef to show off grilling skills and bartending tricks. Landscape designer Joel Kirby took inspiration from South Carolina’s own mountains and streams to give the house a sense of place while creating the ultimate resort for the homeowners.

Rosanne has 36 years of experience as an interior designer and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Lauren is a Clemson University graduate and has been employed with Carolina Furniture and Interiors since 2005.
