A Note from Joan Welcome to The Gallery from Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty — the Upstate’s only real estate periodical produced by a brokerage. We have several new and exciting things to tell you about. Since the last issue, we have officially opened our second office in the Clemson/Upstate Lakes area. The finishing touches are going on at our new office in Patrick Square, as you read this. Look for upcoming announcements regarding our Clemson Office Grand Opening celebration. Our Clemson office differs from our main office at One McDaniel Greene in that it has a retail vibe, open to the public with regular hours — Walk-Ins Welcome! As we’ve grown into a two-location company, our leadership team has expanded. After almost four years of incredible year-over-year growth in company sales volume, (productive) agent count, and per-person productivity, Jack Herlong is now Broker In Charge (BIC) for the Clemson office. He also serves as Chief Strategy Officer for the company. Jack continues to provide unmatched personal coaching and support to all our Associates, as well as corporate marketing and strategic planning. COO and In-House Counsel William Herlong is now the BIC for the Greenville office. We remain the only realty firm in the Upstate with a highly experienced attorney in management, with over 35 years in trial and corporate work, and a track record of true public service. William served eight years on the Greenville County School Board. He earned his law degree at Northwestern University, as well as his MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, in 2020. I’m inspired by, and so proud of, the company culture we enjoy here: we put our Clients first, always, with Honor, Advocacy, and Expertise. For me, my Associates are my most important “repeat clients.” Unlike other realty firms, they don’t pay any fees just to work here. We’re investing in their long term success. Their entrepreneurial spirit creates an atmosphere of constructive competition and mutual support that is all too rare in this business.
