Leather The leather glove is the oldest type of glove known to man. The most common leathers are cowhide, buffalo, goatskin, pigskin or lambskin. Leather can be used in two forms, grain PC PC PC the smooth outer side of a piece of leather offering suppleness and dexterity or split leather leather, the rougher inner side which is more economical and offers good abrasion resistance. PC PC
Para-Aramid (Kevlar® and Twaron®)
R R Specialised man-made yarns from which gloves and sleeves are made. R These have excellent tear, abrasion and cut resistance as well as thermal resistance. R R
Dyneema® and Spectra® These PVC PVChighly resistant polyethylenes exist in the form of cracked fibres or parallel PVC filaments. Excellent resistance to abrasion and cuts. PVC PVC
Aluminised Fabrics Aluminised fabrics help reflect heat and can be used in areas where radiant heat is the main hazard. Materials such as Aluminised Preox, Kevlar, Rayon and fibre glass are available.
Products used for coating Coating textile gloves provides them with superior impermeability and comfort, greater mechanical resistance and resistance to chemical agents.

Nitrile is used to make a variety of gloves from heavy duty work gloves to ultra thin medical gloves. A Nitrile coating provides protection from physical hazards such as cut, puncture or abrasion. Nitrile dipped gloves also provide chemical resistance to petrochemicals, oils, greases, pesticides and other agricultural chemicals while providing excellent dexterity.
Neoprene® (Polychloroprene) Neoprene gloves are strong and durable providing excellent hand protection from physical hazards such as cuts and abrasions. Neoprene gloves are soft and flexible and provide excellent chemical resistance. Good for exposure to organic and inorganic acids as well as organic solvents, oils, greases and petrochemicals. Neoprene® is a registered trademark of DuPont®.
Natural Rubber Natural rubber is the most elastic substance known and is found in over 200 plants including the rubber tree. Natural rubber is extremely elastic, flexible and soft yet tough and durable as a coating that provides excellent protection from physical hazards and provides outstanding grip. Good for exposure to aqueous chemicals such as acids and caustics, and limited protection from alcohols and ketones. Does not hold up well in organic solvents, oils, greases or fuels such as kerosene or gasoline. Caution: Natural rubber latex has been shown to cause allergic reactions in sensitised individuals.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

PVC gloves provide limited protection from a limited range of chemicals and can offer abrasion and puncture resistance.

GLOVES
These resistance ratings, calculated based on the table below, enable you to compare the performance between various products. These tests are laboratory results and do not replace the actual testing of the product in real conditions in the field.
Heat and Fire Thermal Risks Standard EN407 PERFORMANCE LEVELS REQUIREMENTS 1 to 4 ........................................ a: RESISTANCE TO FLAMMABILITY
Time during which the material remains lighted and continues to be consumed after the ignition source has been eliminated

EN407:1994 Contact heat as per the test EN702:1995
Welder Risk (draft Pr EN12477) The draft standard specifies the requirements and test methods for gloves used for manual welding of metals, for cutting and related techniques. Welders gloves are ranked in two types: B when great dexterity is required and A for other welding processes.
Cold Risk EN511 The EN511 standard defines the requirements and test methods for cold-protection gloves from cold transmitted by convection or conduction down to -50°C . This cold can be from climatic conditions or industrial activity.
Micro-Organism Risk EN374-2 The EN374-2 standard specifies a test method for the penetration resistance of gloves protecting against chemical products and/or micro-organisms. When the gloves resist penetration, they are tested according to this part of EN374-2, and they provide an effective barrier against microbiological risks.
Chemical Risk EN374-3 The EN374-3 standard involves determination of the resistance of the materials making up the gloves to permeation by non-gaseous chemical products which are potentially hazardous in case of continued contact. Emphasis is therefore placed on the fact that this test does not take into account conditions which are likely to be encountered in actual working conditions. It is therefore recommended to only use the test results, which have basically relative values, to compare the materials on the basis of the major categories of passage of time.

This test method is certainly the laboratory method which most easily applies to actual reality. Indeed, it defines the time for contact between a hot part and the glove at different thresholds. For a product to go up a level (see table at right), the standard defines the contact time with the part. Such time must be equal to or above 15 seconds, and the temperature of the hand must not rise over 10°C.

Ellgard® G-Flex Gloves The ELLGARD G-Flex® range of ergonomic seamless nylon gloves includes the G-Flex CR, G-Flex Dyneema, G-Flex Lite, G-Flex Foam and G-Flex Nitrile. Seamless Liners
Each glove is built on a seamless liner which is more comfortable to wear and fits better.
Finger Dip Technology
Each glove is dipped to cover the palm and fingers leaving the back of the fingers and palm free of any coating. This allows the back of the hand to breathe and reduces the build up of perspiration.
Multiple Hand Sizes
The complete G-Flex range is available in sizes ranging from 7 to 10. Each size is clearly printed on each glove and the cuffs are colour coded for easy identification.

CERTIFIED
The EN388:2003 test results show the outstanding cut and abrasion resistance of this product. Combined with high levels of puncture and tear resistance this glove has extreme levels of protection against a variety of hazards.
MEDICAL NEEDLE PUNCTURE TEST
The materials were tested using a modified (American Society for Testing Materials) ASTM 1342 standard of puncture resistance. The ASTM 1342 measures the force required to cause a sharp-edged puncture probe to penetrate through the sample. This modified test uses a much sharper medical grade needle, resulting in a more real-world test of puncture resistance for a number of applications including law enforcement. To the right you see the standard ASTM 1342 probe along with a 25 gauge medical needle. Most materials provide little to no protection against such sharp needles. SuperFabric® brand materials, on the other hand, offer high levels of puncture protection.
ASTM Probe (~45x)

ADDITIONAL TEST RESULTS
ASTM F 1790 Cut Resistance Level 5 (5 is highest achievable) EN 420:2003 Comfort/Fit PASS
*These results are the highest possible to achieve.
Note: SuperFabric® brand materials are cut and puncture resistant but NOT cut or puncture PROOF. Do not use with moving or serrated blades or tools.

Ellgard® Vibra–Plus: Anti-Vibration The Vibrating Syndrome is the name given to the complex of symptoms associated with vibrating tools. The intense vibration from hand tools can be transmitted to the operator’s fingers, hands and arms. When this happens, permanent damage can occur to the peripheral blood and nervous systems in fingers, causing numbness, clumsiness and the blanching effect known as ‘White Fingers’. Even after prolonged rest, this painful problem will re-occur as soon as work commences using vibrating tools. The new European standard recognises the need to reduce vibration to 60% of the level measured without the gloves. The Vibra-Plus reduces vibrationary shock up to 70% on some tests and provides the workforce with a unique barrier to help prevent this painful and all too common occurrence of ‘White Finger’.

Kevlar® Heat Protection Gloves & Mitts Contact Heat Protection
Elliott Australia’s range of Magnashield gloves and mitts are manufactured from a range of FORTAMID fabrics to offer a choice in performance and value. FORTAMID fabrics combine the use of an inner core of filament glass fibre wrapped with an outer sheath of aramid fibre. The resulting composite structure allows temperatures of up to 450°C to be withstood, well in excess of the levels which can be tolerated by 100% pure aramid. However by contrast, FORTAMID needlefelts which are produced from 100% para-aramid contain high levels of entrapped air, giving excellent heat insulation properties.
Outer Fabric Choices

Furnace Apparel Elliott Australia manufactures a comprehensive range of protective apparel where protection is required from flames and heat, molten metals and welding sparks. Radiant heat, conductive heat and metal splash are just some of the hazards faced by workers in furnace and smelting operations. Elliott Australia’s range of furnaceman’s apparel including hoods, smocks, coats and trousers and other accessories has been designed to protect the wearer against brief contact with flame and against at least one type of heat. The heat may be in the form of convective heat, radiant heat, large molten metal splashes or a combination of these heat hazards. To understand the differences between ambient, convective and radiant heat, go to Furnace Apparel section of www.elliottaustralia.com
Hazards Smelting workers face a range of dangers-including molten cryolite, electric arc exposure, and molten metal splash. Workers in re-melt plants and casthouses face exposures to molten metal and combustion systems, while electricians and maintenance employees are exposed to electric arc as defined by NFPA 70E criteria. All of these conditions can cause a garment to ignite, leading to burns, injury, or in a worst-case scenario even death.
Head to Foot Protection Elliott Australia provides a head to foot protective apparel solution which incorporates Primary and Secondary Protective Clothing, Underwear and Boots.
Fabric Types Primary Workwear Fabrics
[WeldWool] was developed many years ago to give maximum protection against fire, extreme temperatures and molten metal exposure. The natural flame retardance of wool has been enhanced with addition of a PFZ treatment.
Ph: 07 - 3326 1500
[Aluminised Fabrics] Aluminised fabrics consist of a polyester film, coated on both sides with heat reflective aluminium particles, laminated to a woven or non-woven base cloth. The choice of base cloths offered by Elliott Australia include flame resistant Rayon, Fortamid Aramid (Kevlar®) and Preox.
Radiant Heat Protection
Aluminised fabrics give excellent protection from exposure to radiant heat. When fabricated into garments, aluminised fabrics enable the wearer to work safely and effectively in conditions where a high degree of radiant heat protection is required.
Metal Splash Protection
Elliott Australia’s aluminised garments exhibit a unique ability to protect the industrial worker against damage from molten ferrous metal splash. With combined ferrous metal splash and radiant heat protection, Elliott Australia aluminised garments are ideal for use in steel and foundry working environments.
Secondary Workwear Fabrics
PR97™ has been specifically designed for use in secondary protective workwear. PR97 is inherently flame retardant, offers outstanding protection against molten aluminium and cryolite splash. Elliott Australia can manufacture your shirting, trouser, jacket and hood requirements.

Garment Types Primary Protective Garments:
Primary protective garments are the first line of personal protection and are worn over secondary protective clothing. Primary protective clothing is designed to be worn during activities in which significant exposure to molten substance splash, radiant heat, flame or arc flash is likely to occur. Primary protective garments include coats, smocks, spats, trousers, aprons, hoods and, gloves, among other items.
Secondary Protective Clothing:
Underwear:
The use of specialised lightweight underwear can further increase protection and comfort due to the air gap and layering effect. Underwear can enhance worker safety and comfort.
Fabric Options PRIMARY PROTECTIVE CLOTHING Aluminised Fabrics
A metalised aluminum surface has proven to be the most effective flexible barrier for stopping radiant (infrared) heat. The mirror-like surface reflects radiant heat away, rather than allowing it to be absorbed by the fabric. Our aluminised fabrics incorporate a five-layer structure which ensures a high level of abrasion resistance so that the fabric remains highly reflective after repeated use. The five layers consist of an outer layer of aluminum, protective film, a second layer of aluminium, heat stable adhesive and base fabric. These layers combine to form a single fabric.
FURNACEMAN’S APPAREL
Secondary protective clothing refers to basic FR clothing worn by workers on a daily basis. It is a key component of personal protective equipment designed for continuous wear in the workplace. Secondary protective clothing is designed so that it is self extinguishing after exposure to and removal of an ignition source and to provide protection against metals splash and radiant heat if required.
Wool
Elliott Australia’s WeldWool was developed many years ago to give protection against fire, extreme temperatures and molten metal exposure. The natural flame retardancy of wool is enhanced with a PFZ treatment.

SECONDARY PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
ALu-Safe®
Ph: 07 - 3326 1500
ALu-Safe® is a unique high performance workwear fabric developed specifically and especially to protect workers in Primary Aluminium Smelters who are exposed to the hazards and dangers of molten Aluminium and Cryolite (reduction cell flux) splash.
UltraSoft
Ultra Soft flame resistant fabrics are a blend of 88% cotton and 12% high tenacity nylon. The nylon fibres are intimately blended with cotton fibres in the warp yarns. These fibres are spun using ring-spinning technology to produce the highest strength fabric possible. The product is engineered to focus the excellent abrasion resistance of the nylon on the face of the fabric to enhance garment wear life, while the cotton fibres are focused towards the skin to optimise comfort. The fabrics are fully flame resistant and the addition of 12% nylon in no way represents a hazard to the wearer. In fact, the 12% nylon actually enhances the protective performance in some cases, such as an electric arc and flash fire exposures.
PROBAN®
PROBAN® is the leading flame retardant treatment for cotton and other cellulosic fibres. The PROBAN® system imparts durable flame retardant properties to cotton by producing an invisible polymer containing phosphorus and nitrogen, inside the cotton fibres. When flame comes into contact with PROBAN® treated cotton, an insulating char is formed with no melting, smouldering or after glow.
UNDERWEAR
ALu-Safe® ALu-Safe® is a unique high performance workwear fabric developed specifically and especially to protect workers in Primary Aluminium Smelters who are exposed to the hazards and dangers of molten aluminium and Cryolite (reduction cell flux) splash. ALuSafe® is highly moisture absorbent, double that of cotton making it an ideal material for underwear.

Indura’s Ultra Soft® The Fabric of Choice for NFPA 70E Compliance
If you need to go into an FR clothing program to comply with NFPA 70E, INDURA Ultra Soft is the answer. With the new breakthrough technology of INDURA Ultra Soft, you can have flame resistance that is guaranteed for the life of the garment without sacrificing the soft breathable comfort of cotton. That’s because it’s 88% cotton, with 12% high-tenacity nylon for extra garment durability. Ultra Soft® Coveralls Ultra Soft® Shirt Ultra Soft® Trousers
Ph: 07 - 3326 1500
• Guaranteed flame resistance for the life of the garment • New softer feel for enhanced cotton comfort • Enhanced abrasion resistance for 50%+ extended garment wear life • Enhanced protection from Electric Arc and Flash Fire exposures • UL recognised performance to NFPA 1977 • Multi-purpose protection from electric arc, flash fire, and molten metal ferrous metal and welding exposures. • Excellent value equation • “ARC FLASH” Defined; NFPA 70E Annex K-3 – When an electric current passes through air between ungrounded conductors and grounded conductors, the temperatures can reach 35,000°F. Exposure to these extreme temperatures both burns the skin directly and causes ignition of clothing, which adds to the burn injury. The majority of hospital admissions due to electrical accidents are from arc-flash burns, not from shock. Arc flash can and will kill at distances of ten feet.

ARCSAFE
Welding Screens How does it work?
The ArcSafe® welding screen is manufactured from vinyl film, processed with a colour dye, a flame retardant and an ultra violet absorber. The dye consumes and filters the blue light brightness associated with the electric arc welding process. The material surface acts as a reflector, causing the arc to appear larger and less bright, thus reducing glare to the eyes. The light is also scattered in different directions, creating a fluorescent light. This causes the pupil to constrict and shut out excess glare, thus reducing light to the retina.
Colours and Luminance Transmittance
ArcSafe® welding screens are available in three colours: Red, Green and Amber. The Luminance Transmittance is the ratio of the luminance of a source of light when viewed through a curtain or screen, to the luminance of that source when viewed directly.
Red
Green
Amber
Benefits of ArcSafe®
ArcSafe® welding screens absorb the dangerous ultra violet light that is emitted from the arc welding process and also offers these added benefits: • Surrounding your welding situations with safety • Protecting your co-workers and other people from the painful effects of accidental welding flash • Safely and quickly defining hazardous welding areas • Allowing safe observation for safety check of welding operations • All seams are welded, not sewn, for extra durability and strength

Elliott Australia’s frames offer the unique combination of strength, sturdiness and safety. Screens and frames are sold separately.
Strength
One source of strength is the solidity of the heavy duty tubing. Additional strength comes from the corners which are attached to the cross bars.
Sturdiness
Top quality steel tubing with corners in one complete section combined with platform legs minimise frame wobble and sway. Elliott’s frames are designed for today’s tough and abusive industrial demands.
Safety
Elliott frames can be combined with either of our welding screens to give necessary protection for welding areas, machine shops, spray booths, printing washing booths, room dividers, grinding and other similar applications.

A ‘Welding Blanket’ is designed to encapsulate a metal object that has been subjected to heat treatment either through stress relieving or welding. The blanket retards the cooling rates contributing towards the non hardening and possible subsequent embrittlement in the Heat Effected Zone (H.E.Z.). Elliott offers blankets manufactured from two fabrics, HeatShield® and T1000. HeatShield® is manufactured from E Glass fibre which is a noncombustible, flexible, inorganic material that has been specifically designed to provide retention of heat. HeatShield® has a service temperature of 500ºC with a 100% duty cycle providing a wide scope, white fulfilling most applications.

Welding Drapes Application - Protection from Spatter and Dross
A ‘Welding Drape’ is designed to be placed over or cover an object that cannot be moved and is positioned in such a way that welding spatter and dross could cause damage.
SCREENS & DRAPES
The positioning of a drape is of utmost importance. It should be arranged loosely over the object to enhance the run off of welding spatter and dross. A welding drape can also be used as a curtain where a more robust material is required.
Elliott offers drapes made from three types of fabrics: NeoWeld®, SilicaGlass and Leather.
NeoWeld® • Part No. Width Drop NWB63 900mm 1800mm NWB66 1700mm 1800mm Special sizes available by request Available by the roll on request
IMPORTANT: Care should be taken to position a drape to enhance the natural run-off of the weld spatter and dross.
NeoWeld® is Elliott Australia’s most popular fabric used in welding drapes. NeoWeld® is an E-Glass fabric coated in flame retarded neoprene which provides a slick surface to enable the weld spatter and dross to cascade away. wet weather
ZETEL® – The Edge Elliott Australia has combined the state-of-theart performance fabrics of the ZETEL® (ZEE-TEL) range with specially designed wet weather gear for industrial conditions.
ZETEL® fabrics are made from high visibility fabrics that conform to strict standards to ensure that you are seen and are safe while working.
All Zetel® fabrics are high performance, breathable, waterproof and wind proof and purposely designed for industrial conditions.
High visibility is a requirement for safety garments for outdoor use in daytime and night time conditions. Elliott Australia’s range of safety wet weather gear made from high visibility ZETEL fabrics are made to meet the requirements of AS/NZS 4602:1999 High Visibility Safety Garments.
ZETEL® fabrics are a series of Outer Fabrics combined with a formula of super hydrophilic polymer modifiers that creates a stronger than normal osmotic pressure gradient. This actually attracts water vapour molecules to the coating, wicks them across the membrane by molecular action, and passes them through to the exterior – visually akin to how water moves up a towel when dipped in water.
Hazard Protection
Protection must be provided against hazards in your work place. The Zetel range of fabrics not only offers the benefits of being breathable, waterproof and windproof, but protection from other hazards in one garment.
Classification of Garments
WET WEATHER
We can’t control the weather but we can help you stay dry, warm and comfortable when work must go on.
Be Safe – Be Seen
The garments specified in AS/NZS 4602:1999 High Visibility Safety Garments, are classified into one of the following: 3 Layer Fabrics DWR Telflon® Coating Outer Fabric Layers of engineered hydrophilic polymer Lining
• Class D: a garment designed for outdoor daytime use only, comprising fluorescent or other non-retroreflective high visibility material; • Class N: a garment designed for night-time use only, comprising retroreflective elements on an unspecified background; • Class D/N: a garment designed for both day and night use, comprising retroreflective elements on a fluorescent or other non-retroreflective high visibility background material.

ZETEL® ANTI-STATIC protective apparel fabric has been developed for a number of different environments including Petrochemical, Aviation, Defence, Automotive, Mining, Power Generation and Computer, where it is essential to protect people from static charge. ZETEL® ANTI-STATIC fabric is also durable and serviceable. Being dry-cleanable it can withstand regular cleaning, whilst retaining effective functional performance. ZETEL® Antistatic fabrics are flame retarded and have incorporated advanced conductive (and static-dissipative) yarns in the weave, appearing as a grid pattern in the fabric. The specially designed yarns conduct localised static build up, dissipating the charge before accumulation and discharge occur.
Manufacturing and design flexibility
Elliott Australia’s ability to manufacture in our factories in Australia, Fiji or China ensure we can match the right fabric, design and price to satisfy your special requirements.
Specialised Industry Expereince
Elliott Australia has extensive experience in designing and manufacturing specialised garments for the SES, Ambulance, Police, Fire Services and industry.

Utilising our global fabric partners we combine not only the best designs but also the most suitable fabrics and reflective trims. We able to offer fabrics that offer anti-static, flame retardant, chemical splash, resistance to salt water and high temperature laundering to kill blood born pathogens.

Elliott Australia’s range of Chem-Tech® Chemical Splash Protective clothing is manufactured from EmphaTex® EmphaChem® fabric by The Specialty Group.
Many coated fabrics are non–breathable, and they do not allow moisture vapour through. Workers incur the risk of heat stress since the body’s physiological cooling process is hindered.
MISC
The EmphaTex® EmphaCHEM® fabric allows vapour to transfer through the fabric while preventing liquid penetration by a variety of chemicals. Chem–Tech® Chemical Splash Protective Clothing made from this fabric allows the body to ‘breathe’, so your sweat can evaporate, reducing the possibility of heat stress.
Chem–Tech® Chemical Splash Protective Clothing can provide you with valuable time to get to an emergency shower in the case of accidental chemical splash.
Chem–Tech® Chemical Splash Protective Clothing:
• Resists penetration of many liquid chemicals including aviation fuel (refer EmphaCHEM® Data Sheet for details) • Breathable (moisture vapour permeable) to optimise wearer comfort reducing heat stress and improving productivity • Conforms to AS/NZS 1906.4 1997 ‘High Visibility Materials for Safety Garments’ (fluoro orange). Clothing is manufactured to meet the requirements of AS/NZS 4602.1999 ‘High Visibility Safety Garments’ • Multi-purpose protective clothing, affording limited protection against chemical hazards, offers high visibility conformance and also doubles as high performance rainwear, exhibiting optimum waterproof and water repellent properties. • Soft and lightweight fabric • Durable and reusable and easy to maintain • Seams sewn and sealed for protection • Chemical resistance and breathability in one garment

Disposable Clothing
Protection Standards
The ELLGARD range of coveralls are designed to protect workers from a range of hazardous substances or sensitive products and processes. They are typically used – depending on toxicity of chemicals and conditions of exposure – for protection from fine particles, liquid splashes or fine liquid spray.
Where applicable each ELLGARD Coverall (excluding the X1) corresponds to the European Standards for Chemical Protective Clothing, Category III. The European Standards for Chemical Protective Clothing defines six types of protection which are symbolised in pictograms.
Why disposables protective coveralls?
Type 2: Non-gas-tight clothing
Type 1: Gas-tight clothing
In situations where cleanliness and hygiene are critical, disposable clothing provides a physical, throw away barrier and may be the solution. Contamination control is a major issue facing many industries. Contamination control of protective clothing can expensive. Decontamination is not an issue as disposables are a throw-away item. Disposable clothing is commonly used in the following industries: food, medical, hospitals, pharmaceutical and research. Disposable clothing helps control contaminants such as hair, skin flakes, sweat, dandruff, clothing threads, dust, bacteria, viruses, insects, chemicals, water, aerosols, pollen, fungi spores etc. Disposable clothing: features and benefits • • • • •

Spunbonded polypropylene is a lightweight, breathable fabric that provides economical protection against non-hazardous, grimy-work environment applications. Spunbonded polypropylene is appropriate for wear in the non-toxic workplace and is a low-cost solution for protecting workers in dirty environments.
SMS/SMMS
SMS/SMMS (spunbonded-meltblown-meltblown-spunbonded) polypropylene barrier fabric is a unique trilaminate construction that offers a high tensile strength and toughness that is also soft, drapable, and easy to work with. SMS provides a fluid and particulate barrier to protect the worker without sacrificing mobility and comfort. Garments constructed of SMS fabric are strong and durable, yet offer outstanding comfort, breathability, softness, and wearability. SMS is lightweight and resistant to tears and punctures.
Guartex
Guartex is a two-layer microporous laminated fabric. The unique two-layer construction provides a very comfortable garments that conforms to Type 4, 5 and 6 providing protection against chemical and biologicals agents. Guartex is tough, soft, breathable, antistatically treated and extremely comfortable to wear.

Limitations of use
Avoid intense heat or naked flame, sparks and/or hot surfaces. Please ensure that you have chosen the right garment suitable for your job. ELLGARD Coveralls offer no penetration resistance against solvents (like n-Heptane and Isopropanol). For further advice, please contact your supplier of the ELLGARD Coveralls. The user shall be the sole judge for correct combination of full body protective coverall and ancillary equipment (gloves, boots, respiratory protective equipment, etc.), and for how long ELLGARD Coveralls can be worn – with respect to its protective performance, wear comfort and heat stress. Elliott Australia shall not accept any responsibility whatsoever for improper use of ELLGARD Coveralls.

Chainsaw Protective Clothing Elliott Australia’s chainsaw protective trousers and chaps are designed for the professional chainsaw operator to prevent or minimise injuries to the legs caused by chainsaws. Elliott Australia’s chainsaw clothing is available in trousers and several styles of chaps. They are manufactured to meet the design requirements of AS/NZS 4453.3:1997 and NZS 5840:1998 and the performance requirements of NZS 5840:1998. Elliott Australia chainsaw protective clothing uses special warp-knit materials that are designed to jam a chain saw’s moving chain. This material is fully washable, lightweight and very comfortable.
Remember • Read and follow all instructions for your chainsaw carefully. • Additional protective equipment should also be worn when using a chainsaw. • Use only the correct size, the garment must cover the full length of the wearer’s leg. • Use only correctly fitted garments. • All closures must be fastened and straps tightened to ensure minimum slack. Repair damaged closures before use.
Cleaning, Maintenance and Repairs • Repairs may only be carried out on the outer layer, do not repair or sew through the protective pad.
Ph: 07 - 3326 1500
• Repair damaged outer layer immediately to prevent damage to protective pad. If the internal protective pad has been damaged DO NOT USE and discard immediately. • Visually inspect at regular intervals when in storage, before and after each use. If damaged, discard and replace. If in doubt DO NOT USE. • Wash chaps regularly as instructed on care/ washing label. Heavy soiling may reduce protection. Failure to comply with care/ washing instructions will reduce effectiveness.
IMPORTANT Chainsaw protective clothing is designed to reduce the severity of harm to the wearer in event of a mishap during chainsaw operation, however the best form of accident prevention is proper training and exercise of caution on the job.
WARNING These garments do not offer protection against all risks. The level of protection this garment provides will be reduced by failure to comply with manufacturers instructions.
