Bridge to Depot Park

Park Inlet Parking Lot This proposal integrates landscape with parking surfaces through a graphic ground plan as well as materials that produce a gradient transition between man-made hardscapes, softscapes, structures, and more organic formations of plant life. We believe that it is important that parking be considered as another form of landscape, rather than monofunctional surface for cars. The design encourages other uses of this parking lot during off hours as well as for pedestrian to explore the park and water’s edge. The individual structures of the park emerge from the ground in a series of arch forms and volumes with figural silhouettes. The playful shapes encourage unexpected interactions for people that discover them. The pavilion offers shade with cutouts in the shape of iconic Peterborough buildings. The structure is composed of a series of arches. These arches also show up elsewhere to unify other built components like the bridge and

the bench seating.

Start-up valley

Pop-up spaces

PLAY

“(Re)planting Reciprocity” is shaped by a pop-up wall where plants are on display and can be taken home by visitors of the ABX. The idea is inspired by “the free library” concept where people are encouraged to pick and choose an item, so long as they replace that item. The green ribbon wall is meant for people to gather around and celebrate plant-life and are encouraged to take one and leave one. Thus, the wall becomes a collective piece and serves to seed reciprocity. SEED STATION
