YOUR PERFECT PREPARATION FOR A CAREER IN BUSINESS & MARKETING Our Business BTEC grades are in the top 1% nationally and we offer an array of speakers and extracurricular activities, alongside outstanding teaching, to achieve this academic success. Fine art and product design provide students with a knowledge of key software such as Illustrator, SketchUp, 2D design, Firework, InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Whilst media studies introduces students to key theory and understanding of media and marketing. At Clapton, we place high importance on practical skills and work experience, so our students are prepared for university, apprenticeships and the working world. ACTIVITIES, OPPORTUNITIES AND TRAINING AUTUMN TERM

SPRING TERM

SUTTON TRUST - PATHWAYS TO BANKING AND FINANCE PROGRAMME WITH LSE (ONE YEAR PROGRAMME) This fantastic opportunity offers finance master classes and a residential conference. Building on practical skills, the programme offers insight days at a financial service provider and work placements. Economic taster sessions are available at the University of Warwick.

CGA - SPECIALIST SPEAKERS Prominent business speakers provide an insight into the working world, sharing tips and information about innovations in the field. Speakers have included: Microsoft, N Power and website designers.

SOCIAL MOBILITY FOUNDATION PROGRAMME – BUSINESS MENTORING (ONE YEAR PROGRAMME) Students are given the opportunity to attend competitive internships and receive university application support and skills sessions. Completion of the programme can lead to a reduced offer at selected universities. YOUNG ENTERPRISE – ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY In teams, students are tasked with creating a business which will be registered as a limited company. From the inception of a product to marketing and distribution, students learn all aspects of business.

STOCK MARKET CHALLENGE – CGA FOCUS DAY Students are given the opportunity to enter a mock stock exchange and bid on stocks and shares. Understanding the fundamental skills and knowledge to assess risk and rewards.

SUMMER TERM

N POWER – ENERGY BANK PROJECT The project requires students to devise ways to provide cheap energy to clients, creating a business plan with the support of professionals in the field. TWO WEEK WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT CGA has work experience links with a number of prestigious business and marketing companies, including, Linklaters, UBS and AIG where students are able to network with professionals.
