Things that sustain my life in nine spaces
1. Null Space
Alan Gullette : Nothing is sacred in Zen: it is a central theme,
an essential concept in Zen thought.
I equate this with peace of mind which is something that I strive for and which sustains me.
2 Living Space
Or the spice of life ‌..
2 Living Space
The spices of life. Derived from living things to brighten our lives. A form of sustenance.
3. Intercostal Space
3. Intercostal space
Intercostal spaces are the spaces between our ribs. They house the muscles which we need for breathing.
4. Enclosed Space
4. Enclosed Space
My house, my sustaining enclosed space, through a peephole. I could not resist recalling the fun I had had with BlockArt.
5. Space in Three Dimensions
5. Space in Three Dimensions
A collection of objects that sustain me – little objects - little objects in fluxus. Three-dimensional space is defined by the relationship of these objects to each other as they inhabit their confines.
6. Buncher Space
6. Buncher Space
Dictionary: Buncher: Velocity-modulating element that effects the electron-bunching in a klystron. Meriam-Webster
The idea of modulation, or moderation, fits in with the precepts of Buddhism illustrated here by the auspicious symbols. It is something I should strive for.
7. Hair Space
7. Hair space
Family life – sometimes only the breadth of a hair separates us; other times perhaps a little more.
8.Parking Space
8. Parking Space
Every night I tell myself I am going to go to bed early to read my book. This is my parking space. But night after night I find myself sitting on the couch with my Ipad. It now takes me so long to finish a book!
9. Outer Space
9. Outer Space
This course has take me way beyond the usual confines of my life – into outer space in fact. Thank you my teachers and my fellow students. I have learned so much; you have shown me what to aspire to. Special thanks to Lola.
