What is it?

Area of kelpy reef and rocky hard ground. This is the most widely known and consistent area for catching live bait. Where is it?
Wide bait ground, GPS 30. 15. 34 - 153. 14. 55 The wide bait ground is 5.5 nautical miles from the harbour entrance.
What’s there?
Rocky hard ground and reef covered in kelp. What fish should I target?
Live baits such as Slimy Mackerel and Yakkas. Also produces Flathead, Snapper, Cobia, School Sharks and Mackerel. What bait should I use?
Fresh baits fished on a paternoster rig or live baits on the surface. What lures are best?
Knife jigs and soft plastics. Trolled skirted lures and hard bodied lures in the summer months.
Best time to fish?
All year round.
For the kids
Great for kids as it is relatively close and the kids will have a ball catching the live bait on bait jigs.
What dream fish might I catch?
Large Cobia or even little Black Marlin
