While the concept of growing older is a compelling topic, it can even be intimidating for some people for many different reasons, it’s important to remember to recognise and accept that the process of aging is a natural part of the life cycle. And it happens to us all. While growing older may limit your ability to participate in certain activities or make it more difficult to do the things you used to do, it’s also important to remember that growing old, doesn’t mean you are old. After all, age is just a number.

Life doesn’t and shouldn’t have to stop once a certain number is reached and you find yourself blowing out more and more candles on your birthday cake. Sometimes, it is just about reassessing your life and your changing circumstances and knowing when additional steps are needed to help make life easier and stress free for you and your loved ones. You should never feel embarrassed to ask for help either. Throughout the Clarence Valley, there are plenty of reputable local agencies which provide quality services in a professional, supportive and

caring environment. If you recognise that a friend or family member may need some extra help or reassurance for their own peace of mind, there are several well-established businesses who are able to assist.

You will find many of them, and their contact information, available in this feature. The Clarence Valley encompasses a very close and caring community, and we are also home to an aging population who need our love, care, help and support. And we will always be here to ensure it is given to them.
