Welcome to Term 2, 2023

The CVCon family sends our congratulations to Jill Carter and her partner Leo on their new arrival. Baby Oliver was born at the beginning of March.

At the beginning of term 1 we welcomed Elysha West to the CVCon to teach singing. Elysha is based downriver and we are looking forward to being able to offer singing lessons in downriver areas - contact us now to register. Inanna Sage will make a welcome return to the CVCon in May as our new violin tutor. Inanna is a long term member of the CVCon family and we are pleased to have her here as a violin tutor.

We're still on the lookout for some musicians to join the new CVCon Rock BandGuitar, Bass Guitar, Piano (Keys) and Drum students will join together to create our newest group at the Con. To register your interest you can use the online form.

From all of the staff at the Clarence Valley Conservatorium we are still celebrating with our Director, Adam Wills on his recent and very notable achievement on receiving the prestigious 2023 Clarence Valley Citizen of the Year Award. We are all very proud of Adam's success, amazing talents and leadership skills, we again say to you, "Congratulations Adam on a well deserved award!"

Acacia Quartet

Returning to the Clarence Valley in 2023 is the highly acclaimed Acacia Quartet. Featuring string quartets by Beethoven and Schubert as well as a contemporary Australian quartet, the Acacia Quartet are always welcome visitors to the CVCon.

The Acacia Quartet is an Australian-based string quartet known for their innovative and dynamic performances of classical and contemporary music.

The Acacia Quartet has been praised for their fresh and engaging approach to classical music, blending traditional repertoire with new and lesser-known works. They are also known for their collaborations with contemporary composers and performers, creating exciting and unique musical experiences.

Boom, Bang, BOOGIE

Boom, Bang, Boogie is a one-day workshop for students participating in School Band programs at local schools. The Term 3 Boom, Bang, Boogie is for players up to two years of playing experience.

Bands in The Park

Performances by: CVCon Jazz Ensemble, CVCon Concert Band Sax Ensemble, Flute Ensemble and Guest Ensembles

The bands of the CVCon will join with bands from local schools to present a free concert in Market Square. Bring along a rug and a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of music performed by students of the region.

In 2023 we are excited to be able to offer 2 new flute groups for the community.

For players 13 years and under is the Junior Flute Group to rehearse at the Conservatorium after school hours.

Footloose first burst onto the silver screen in 1984 and proved to be one of the year ’ s most successful motion pictures. Footloose opened on Broadway on October 22, 1998. The next day, the show broke the box office record for the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it continued to thrill audiences through July 2000. CVCon students will bring the familiar story to life with a live band.

The musical features a lively and energetic score, with songs such as "Footloose," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and "Holding Out for a Hero." It also includes exciting dance numbers that showcase the talent and athleticism of the cast.

Footloose has been a hit with audiences since its debut in 1998 and has been performed in numerous productions around the world. The show's themes of rebellion, young love, and the power of music have resonated with generations of theater-goers, making it a beloved classic.
