8. Key issues overview

The following sections provide background information relating to the key issues that have been identified through consultation, research and review.

Each issue is broken down into a general overview, and then by subsections that further explain the particular context and nuances of each. For each issue, a number of recommendations are identified under each of the key areas identified in Part 2, Section 7. These provide direction that is further articulated in the Rural Lands Strategy document.

It is recognised that some of the issues identified are inter-related and taking a holistic approach to the implementation of the recommendations is required – that is, issues and recommended actions should not necessarily be considered in isolation.
