PREFACE What is home? The definition from the dictionary, a house is a building built for habitation whereas a home is an accommodation that built for a family. However, a home is something more special than that. A home is a place, where you feel comfortable. A home is built with a family. A home provides you with the community that will always be there for you. Home for us is not just a house but it is a place just like a shelter where you live but you might not love it. You would have all your belongings in your home is the only reason that you love to live in. The things that full of memories, the wall that you scribble in your childhood, and many more. Even when you grown up, and you move to a new house, you still have these things which will remind you of other homes that you have lived in. Home is a place where you will feel save because no one is strange in your home. Family in our home who may teach you many things and you would learn most of the things from you parents be we realise anything in your own. Your parents’ personalities are the first basis for the way you live. Home is a place that feels like a tight hug: Where time stands still for just a moment, where the noise of outside world is blocked out and where you can breathe it all out after being tense all day. From the moment you enter the door, you are safe, you are warm and you are loved.

Home is the most comfortable place, so what makes me feel so relaxed? First of all, I started with the floor plan and elevation drawing. The simple and clear drawing fully explained activities , and how I usually use the space. So it can be said that my basic activity space is my room. Then, in the picture on the other page, you can see the placement of my basic furniture. I share the same space for work and rest, so I divide it into two areas. This allows me to distinguish the placement of my work and rest items. This makes me feel very convenient, and I can lie in bed and rest immediately when I am tired. Because my room its belongs to me only, therefore I can rearraging all items base on my life style to try my best to improve my work efficiency. Everything is arranged in a personal habit. For example, I like to hang the bulletin board on the wall. More table space allows me to draw and get inspiration.

Of course, I will also make the whole space as relaxed as possible. For example, I like to listen to music, so there is a better speaker behind me, and there are more romantic lighting. If I am tired of white lights, the way I express my emotions is with entertainment is watching movies, and having a projector in the room is more dedicated to me and watching movies alone in bed is great! In the end, I feel that because my house is the place where I lived since I was a child, everything has been used to it, and it is a place that makes me feel more comfortable and safe.

PROJECT B ZHANZHAO’S HOME "Home is a building that is made for people to live in."

Brother’s Room My Room

Home is a building that is made for people to live in. First of all, I started with the floor plan, elevation and section drawing. The section fully explained activities, and how my family and I usually use the space. So it can be said that my basic activity space is my room, my brother’s room, dining area and living room. Next, you can see the furniture based on my elevation on the another page. Because of my room its belongs to me only, therefore Iwith go to my brother’s room and chat with him and play games together. Lastly, there is a special object in my room which is called sponge bay window cushion. Normally I will lay on it when I’m tired doing my worksand take a nap over there.

PROJECT C HAOREN’S HOME

What can we do in our home? Firstly, I have done my Autocad drawing to indicate every single furniture in my home to make a more clearer understanding the space and usage in every single area. After having a clearer idea of the whole house, I have chosen an area that I would always use all the time, living room. The living room is a common area that me and my family would always protract, it is because we can have better communication anytime by not using any devices. I feel very comfortable when I am in the spacious living room. I divide the living room into three parts such as, Work area, Play area and relax area. As I’m still a student, I need to have a more fixed personal workspace to allocate all my assignments. Because I don’t like to always take all my stuff all over again when I need to focus on something. When I need to relax or take a rest i would like to go to the sofa to get an afternoon rest or just go to the balcony to have a look of the scenery outside.

I will also use my free time to play piano or watch movie shows on the TV. While lying on the floor, let me think about my childhood memory. Me and my brother used to roll on the floor and play together. However it is why I like to do my daily activities in the living room and i don’t need to care about other’s perspective, its also gave me the comfortable feeling that I like.

JIAXIANG’S HOME

Home is a comfort place to stay as there are no worries when you are in home. At first, I started with the floor plan, elevation and section drawing. The section fully explained activities, and how my family and I usually use the space. The method of making my home is using ketch in phase 1 and using Autocad to draw my plan and sections in phase 2 . My home is a kind of shophouse and living. As you can see in my section drawing on left hand side is a business that run by my mother. During weekend, I will help my mother to avoid her overload works. Normally my activities will be at the dining area to have my meals.gvavgfs

PROJECT D

At another side of my section drawing, as you can see is a dining area and wet kitchen. My family and I normally will enjoy breaksfast and dinner over there and also chatting with family after the meals. In the early morning of 3 a.m, we will get ready ready to prepare our business’s stuffs for example, mee, soup, yong tao fu, and etc. Lastly, home is a place where you will always be surrounded by those who love you. Home is a place or feeling of belonging.

MY ROOM

Home, sweet home, still remember when I was still a kid, I always like to go out. Outside is really fun to me and it is full of explorations. Although I like to go out so much, but I will always missed the home too... Every time I felt tired I will think of Home, I felt uncomfortable I will also think of Home, I felt hungry and no money to eat outside I will also think oh Home. Basically home is the first place I will think of when I felt uncomfortable out there...

I only draw out 1 side of my Home because these area are what I usually interacting everyday. I tried to apply the existing material by taking the colour/textures in my Home. not to render the entire drawings with the material because I want to show my activity more than the material, so I rather leave more black and white in the drawing, Rubbish only appear outside of my house not inside, to represents how dirty my Taman is...

Hmm... to discribe how my Home look like, I will start to discribe the surrounding of my Home first. It is located at almost the heart of Petaling Jaya, and it’s really convinience, because the mrt station is just 8 minutes walk away from my home. So let’s narrow down to my Home’s ‘Taman’, 2 word to discribe "Damn Dirty" I don’t know why the environment can be this dirty, I think it could be the naughty kids throwing all the rubbish straight from their window. Yup... you can Imagine it ‘Damn Dirty’ But after I walk into my Home, it will instantly transform to a clean and neat space compare to the outside.

My room, around 100 sqft. I almost stays in my room for like 24/7 because all the equipment I need is inside this small room. My working desk is crooked due to my "24/7 usage"... yea IKEA’s table, simple at the look but not the quality, it seems like my desk will spoil any time... But because of my budget, I decided to risk haha.. Nothing much to say but this is where the area I like the most in my Home.

I came from a big family. One brother and two sisters with my parent. My house is two-storey residential so above the right side show the ground floor plan and left side show the first floor plan. Inside the floor plan have indicate the relationship of spaces for understanding my home. This sectional elevation x-x for a better understanding of the activities in the spaces and what are we doing in that spaces.

PROJECT F JING WEI’S HOME - There is no place like homeHome, to me, is the place where I don’t have to try to be funny, yet everyone would laugh. Where I don’t have to pretend to be better than I really am, and everyone would still love me the same. Where I can be imperfect, dumb, flawed, ugly and make the same jokes everyday. Where I can be myself.

Here are some activities that I do it regularly. I like to lying on the ground because the floor material is marble that make me comfortable during the hot weather everyday. When I lying on the ground, I like to chit-chat and talking nonsense thing with my family for fun. I will watch movie after having dinner and my parent and brother will still sitting in the dining area and chit-chat their life or work. Sometimes, I will talking or discuss something with them too. Actually, I really wish I have my own room. Me and my sisters don’t have our own room. So, we always sleep together until now. We always chit-chat before sleeping then our mother will come to scold us faster sleep.
