INDESIGN SETTING UP A BOOKLET

HOW TO MAKE A BOOKLET? METHOD:

WHY WE NEED TO USE? ●

InDesign and Affinity are a good organization and typesetting software that PS and AI do not have the overall typesetting function.

ADOBE

INDESIGN

VS

AFFINITY PUBLISHER

The function are very similar but different operating directions, such as the name of menubar and the layers/ pages…. Affinity more easy to use, just like an upgraded version of CANVA.?

WORKSPACE INTRODUCTION

① Menu Bar ●

Including the file, edit, view, window and other items are similar to Ps.

Setting for the overall layout of the document, such as setting the layout grid, columns, reference lines, page numbers, etc.

② Control Panel ● ● ●

Provides some property settings of the current tool and the selected item. The difference between Id and PS is that its control panel has a wide variety of options. But there are many icons at a glance

③ Toolbar

On the left is the toolbar, which is also similar to Ps Tools are different from Ps. There are many tools customized for layout design, such as ○ frame tools (which can be simply understood as a container for storing text and pictures, like a picture frame) Not only can absorb colors, but also attributes (including: font, text size, etc.)

④ Option panel area ●

On the right is the option panel area, which provides settings for special attributes You can set ○ Text ○ fill/stroke color, ○ layer, ○ character/paragraph style, etc. The specific items of the panel can be customized in the "Window"

⑤ Status bar ● ●

At the bottom is the status bar, which displays page navigation and preflight inspection tasks. Pre-press inspection plays a very important role in printed matter publishing.

If the font is missing in the document and the link to the image is invalid, the red light will turn on

⑥ Layers and pages ●

The layer operation is similar to Ai, click the point on the right to select the layer individually.

The page is for the convenience of typesetting

Pages Makes the same part of the layout that no need to make or copy the common part of the previous layout on each page, it can be done directly in Amaster.

In a document, we can make multiple master pages, and these can be applied to different pages.

Page numbers Adding page numbers in InDesign is easy using Master Pages. Even if you reorder your pages, the numbers automatically update!

Grid tools (used to standardize the placement of elements) ○ Can be more logically designed and typeset and organize the information in the screen ○ Make the important elements more distinct ○ Make the design draft have a good structure

Frame tools ○

Conveniently place pictures Use the frame tool to pull out the required range of the picture, and then use Ctrl+D to place the picture.

Link

A link will be automatically added when adding a picture but there may be two link errors.

1.

2.
