BL OODG OOD A BR A MS NEW LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS
CHRISTOPHER–CLARK FINE ART
Jane Bloodgood-Abrams Continuing the tradition of fine landscape painting that took root in America in the early 19th century, Jane Bloodgood-Abrams has developed a distinct style that builds upon the innovations of the past. Drawing inspiration from the spiritual aspects of the Hudson River School, as well as the heightened effects of light and the subtleties of atmosphere found in Luminist and Tonalist works, her highly evocative paintings gently traverse the line between reality and reverie. Bloodgood-Abrams is listed in the “Who’s Who in American Art” and was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists, a group that has included such luminaries as Mary Cassatt, Louise Nevelson and Judy Chicago. In exhibitions ranging from the Biennial at the New York State Museum in Albany to others in Austria, Italy and Germany, Bloodgood-Abrams’ paintings have won numerous awards. She has been an Artist in Residence through the Catskill Center and received a grant from the New York Council for the Arts for this project. In addition, she was the recipient of a grant from the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation. Her paintings are featured in prominent public and private collections worldwide.
