HELLO! MY NAME IS CLAUDIA RUBÍN. I AM CURRENTLY A STUDENT AT SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY’S COMMUNICATIONS DESIGN PROGRAM.EVER SINCE I WAS YOUNG, I HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN THE AESTHETIC OF THINGS AND FINDING WAYS TO MAKE THEM BEAUTIFUL. I AM PASSIONATE, HARD WORKING, AND A TEAM PLAYER. I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO LEARN WHAT IS NEEDED TO BETTER MYSELF AS A DESIGNER, AND IMPROVE IN THE FIELD.

THROUGH THICK &THIN “Didot has been in style for over 200 years.” The House of Didot in Paris, France was one of the most illustrious in the areas of typography. They were the King’s printers and encouraged the cutting of new types. Firmin Didot is responsible for the first modern roman
typeface in 1784 known as “Didot”. This was during the Age of Enlightenment. It was repopularised in the 1920’s during the “modern” art period. The typeface takes inspiration from John Baskerville’s experimentation with increasing
stroke contrast. It is clean, delicately serifed, and has been in style for more than 200 years, being the face of magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. To this day, it remains France’s greatest contribution to type design.

TYPOGRAPHIC POSTER THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO CREATE AN 11X17 COMPOSITION OF THREE PREVIOUS WORKS WE HAD DONE IN CLASS: CROPPED LETTER FOR, LETTER SYMBOL,AND THE 3D LETTERFORM.
THE TYPEFACE USED FOR THE COMPOSITION IS DIDOT.
THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO CREATEA COMPOSITION THAT INCLUDED BASIC FORM, TYPE AND IMAGE.
