Arezzo, Italy Interior Extension

Work 2020

Studio BELARDINI

The pre-existing hairdressing studio was composed of just one floor in a historic building in the city center of Arezzo. The client decided to buy different apartments in order to extend it’s activity to three storeys. It was therefore necessary to redesign the distribution of the floor plan. We ended up with a solution envisioning a sculptural elliptical staircase that was the only element defining the different spaces. The stairs became the center of the composition and were conceived of as a pivot around which the different rooms were arranged in an pinwheel/rotating formation.

15

16

2019 S.M.Ligure, Italy Work FDR ARCHITETTI Interior Renovation The complex is an ancient country manor. The renovation project was draft for one of the apartments of the main floor, dating back to the sixteenth century, and for the newly built studio space into the ex-stable. The diacotomy between old and new; and the natural and artificial is a recurring theme throughout the intervention. The atmosphere created is a suspended silence in which to reflect. The project has been designed in accordance with the requested client surface finishes and the modern taste of the firm, and was a proposal of potential lighting and furniture selection.

17

18

2018 Berlin, Germany Work FDR ARCHITETTI Metropole Hotel The project was a Bed and Breakfast facility for young professionals. We were a team of designers and I was responsable for the design of the common spaces. starting with a pre-existing structural skeleton our comission was to renovate two shallow blocks which had been part of a19th century factory. Our charge was to design the project blueprint up to the point of construction, including electrical layout, HVAC and interior design. The theme has been a revisiting of bauhaus design; this has been the main aesthetic guideline for the colour palette, furnishings and overall style of the comission.
