This proposal involves extending Dewitt Clinton Park into the urban fabric of Hell’s Kitchen. The entire block is used as a mediator between the intense and the calm. The city enters into the site at ground level starting at the main concourse {plaza}. The concourse serves as a hub for activity and dispersal of occupants to different forms of program. Calm is found in the city with the extension of the park into an urban woodland. This happens above the street which serves as a viewing platform and escape from the intensity below.
