NEW! SOCIAL DETERMINANTS SUBSTANCE USE
This course will provide the student with resources to understand “social determinants of health” and their impact on treatment and prevention of substance use disorders. Students will learn how to create diagrams to depict the various levels of physical and social environments, their intersectionality, and their influence on prevention and treatment. Using that information, evidencebased interventions will be explored that successfully address issues across multiple levels in preventing use and providing treatment. This course is appropriate for counselors, social workers, students, leaders, and supervisors in the helping fields. Eligible for 15 CEs to licensed social workers/ counselors.

NEW! ADHD AND SUBSTANCE USE
Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) frequently presents itself as a co-occurring disorder with substance use disorders. This class will look at the role that attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity play in ADHD and their impact on effective recovery. Both medication-based treatments and non-medication treatments of ADHD will be reviewed. The research on the risks of abuse of stimulant medications used in the standard treatment of ADHD will also be reviewed. This course is appropriate for counselors, social workers, students, and supervisors in the helping fields. Eligible for 15 CEs to licensed social workers/counselors.
