Students who have completed The Power of Art (Part 1) may continue with Part 2. You have become familiar with several of the great artists. In this next class, the curriculum will focus on the elements and principles of art. These are the basic ingredients in creating any work of art. Each week, we will explore one of these elements and principles, touch on artists who embraced them and complete a related art project. You may want to pursue a career in creating and selling your art or use art as a calming hobby to offset work responsibilities and life’s demands. Art is powerful in reducing anxiety and increasing coping skills. It promotes well-being, improves communication and helps those involved to express feelings and thoughts, also enhancing self-esteem and self-awareness.
