BEAUTIFYING A HOME WITH THE RIGHT COLORS

For a home to look its best, it should have paint colors that complement the finishes in the home. Studies have shown that the wrong paint colors are one of the top five reasons that people will not be interested in a home. Many people take a “one color fits all” approach to selecting paint colors, but every home is unique and needs just the right colors to create maximum appeal. Whether you are buying or selling a home or simply redecorating, this course will help you to select paint colors that bring out the best in the home. A book is required and can be purchased from the instructor for $20 in class.

LOOKING AHEAD: URBAN FARM COMING TO CLC A new urban farm center will be sprouting up at CLC’s Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan! The student-run farm, expected to open in fall of 2023, will apply sustainable agriculture practices such as hydroponics, aquaponics, raised beds and greenhouse production. It will operate from three renovated CLC buildings and will help revitalize the Lakeshore Campus with a facility that includes food cultivation, aggregation and storage. This exciting initiative is a culmination of meaningful engagements with generous donors, local organizations and community members. CLC has partnered with the Chicago Botanic Garden to learn and take inspiration from its multi-use facility, the Farm on Ogden. We have also sought out local community input to ensure our efforts focus on the most relevant needs of the communities we serve. Watch for more information as this project continues to bloom.
