Large and small areas Office Area

 Multi-Storey Building example • Staff working in three different locations in a four storey building (Reception Area, Interview Rooms and Office Area) require a panic button system. • Each area will be monitored by a ZONITH wireless panic button system. Panic buttons can be mounted on walls, under tables or worn on the wrist. • Receivers connected to the buildings LAN monitor the wireless Panic Buttons for activity. • Security guards want to receive alarms on a digital radio like the MOTOTRBO radios.

E-learning and Remote support

E-Learning Training It is evidently important for the operation that the staff are trained in the usage of the new security and radio system. We therefore provide: • • • • • •

An e-learning solution. All staff can then easily be trained just by using a PC. On-line Exam to keep track on the skill level of the employees. Repeated training sessions possible. Hosted solution as well as for dedicated servers. Train-the-trainer courses can be arranged as well.

Support and Service Agreements Every system need support or upgrade sooner or later! • • • • •

All our solutions are IP enabled. We offer a package for on-line support for all solution components. No need for expensive on-site visits. No need for waiting for maintenance staff to arrive on site. Significant cost savings and much faster fault resolution.

CASE: DR BYEN FIRE FIGHTING

Case: DR Byen Fire Fighting

ďƒ˜The Danish national broadcasting company DR has build a new combined headquarter, studios and concert hall in Copenhagen, called DR Byen. ďƒ˜DR Byen has a large and advanced fire detection and Building Management system from the Swedish company Salwico.

48

Case: DR Byen Fire Fighting

ďƒ˜ The fire department of Copenhagen demanded one of the two following requirements to be fulfilled before approving the building as fire safe: 1. Approximately 8 firemen must be on duty in the building 24 hours a day. 2. 2 firemen should be on duty 24 hours a day provided all fire alarms could be dispatched to the firemen's radios. AND If the Zonith solution was selected the firemen had to acknowledge any alarm in less than 30 seconds. If the acknowledge was not done in less than 30 seconds the fire brigade would be notified automatically. 49

Case: DR Byen Fire Fighting  Solution:  The ZONITH Alarm Control System was installed as the automatic text dispatch system.  Special alarm listener for the Salwico fire detection system was developed. This listener monitors information about any activated fire sensor and its exact location in the buildings.

 For redundancy all fire alarms also sets a relay signal. This relay signal is detected by an RTCU I/O unit which again raises an alarm in the ZONITH Alarm Control System.  The firemen on duty receives the text message alarms on their Motorola terminals and acknowledge for the fire alarm with a return text message.

50

Danish Broadcasting Company (DR) Business Case

The ZONITH Alarm Control System used for fire alarming Dispatches fire alarms directly to fire personnel radios Making the fire response so efficient the DR could reduce fire fighting personnel from 8 to 2 Before: Manned 8 x 24/7 Now: Manned 2 x 24/7 DR saving Amounts to (52 x 1008) Or (calculated from a minimum plant employee wage 30 full time positions)

CASE: TETRA IN POWER PLANTS

TETRA in Power Plants

DONG Energy deploy TETRA  DONG Energy A/S is a large European power and gas distributor operating power plants and wind turbine farms throughout Northern Europe.

 DONG Energy is the largest utility company in Denmark, producing 50 % of its power.  Efficiency and safety is key to the success of DONG Energy.

 Over the last two years DONG Energy have rolled out a TETRA infrastructure utilizing TETRA as a tool to increase efficiency and enhance safety for lone-workers.

53

53

TETRA in Power Plants TETRA radio system requirements

• Provide immediate lone-workers alarms to the central control room. • Enable automatic activation of lone-worker service, based on time and users locations within each Power Plant. • Monitor the functionality of all TETRA base stations and immediately warn of any system failures. • Ensure rescue teams can access all areas in times of emergency. • Dispatch all critical technical alarms to TETEA radios based on a users competency and availability.

54

54

TETRA in Power Plants The DONG Energy TETRA infrastructure

More than 10 TETRA basestations link the DONG Energy Power Plants. IP interconnect between all the basestations. One central control room receives lone-worker alarms outside of normal working hours. Technical alarms are automatically dispatched to Sepura and Motorola TETRA radios.

55

55

Case: Power Plants

 Solution:  TETRA terminals enabled with lone-worker functionality.  ZONITH Alarm Control System with a listener for ABB process alarms.  In case the lone-worker functionality is activated, both an SDS and SMS alarm is raised and rescue parties from outside are called in.  Gates are opened automatically by Remote Telemetry and Control Unit.  All process alarms from the plants ABB control system is passed to the ZONITH Alarm Control System through an ABB Listener.

Immediate Business Benefits

DONG Energy Operational Efficiencies

Previously 11 Power Plants were manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by 2 technical engineers working in 2 man teams. With the TETRA alarm and lone worker system ,DONG Energy are now able to reduce this operational cost by 54%. Now 8 Power Plants are manned 9 hours a day, 5 days a week by 2 technical engineers working individually. And 3 Power Plants being manned 24 hours a day seven days a week.

59

TETRA in Power Plants

Conclusions:

TETRA provides critical safety and efficiency applications for DONG Energy. TETRA enables DONG Energy to maximize its investment in radios with value add applications. TETRA radios ensure instant critical safety and maintenance alarm information. DONG Energy continues to create efficiency savings and safety improvements using TETRA.
