CLEMSON UNDERGRAD-MASTERS PORTFOLIO
Architecture is the ability to express feelings and emotions through design and creation. Without architecture, what would give life to the areas we inhabit and interact with everyday? This portfolio follows my journey through the undergraduate and graduate architecture program at Clemson University.

The proposed extension of the Coastal Discovery Museum aims to accomplish three main focuses through its design: cultural inclusion, environmental response, and traveled experience. Located on Hilton Head Island, elements of the Gullah and Geechee culture are found in aspects of the project - such as the specifically chosen flora or the weaving cladding, emulative of basketry - all meant to amplify the history and stories found within the surrounding culture. These systems create a flexible space that operates between inside and outside conditions of the site while utilizing the curved structural elements to invite visitors to experiences the spaces below.

The primary purpose of traveling abroad is to be able to embrace and learn about the cultures and systems outside ones own. The Palomar Writers Theater wanted to create a contemporary experience that would be able to blend and strengthen the cultural norms and values of Italian architecture. Located in the center of a historic urban piazza, the Palomar Writers Theaters aims to break down the strong historic grid and dissolve as it flows closer to the sea. This brings a strong connection to both the land and to the coastline.

Nature can be seen as both sporadic and calming. This idea of asymmetry is what gives it that feeling of being organic and constantly changing. Hillside Symmetry bring an idea of creating balance and uniformity without taking away from the local landscape. Located close to Clemson’s campus off of the local Lake Issaqueena, Symmetry creates a space students can inhabit and interact with while taking site trips into the surrounding areas of Clemson’s woodlands.
consists of five cabins all sharing the same design of a central truss that acts as the main support and ground connection. With its large open balcony space each cabin has its own unique view based on its location on the hillside.

Bibliotecherella di Genova
Bibliotecherella di Genova, also known as the tiny library of Genoa, looks to bring a new twist to the idea of a contemporary micro library. The usage of both the above and below space of the main form allows for a separation of program and amenities. The open cafe above and the secluded library and interactive learning space below, allows the amphitheater space to serve as an in-between connection. The monolithic slab which acts as the primary building form and structure, serves to create an organic symbiosis with the site. The focus on creating a big space that adds to the overall urban context of the harbor leads to each piece of the building creating a fragmented immediate context.

RE-Discovery
RE-Discovery took on a challenging task of decommissioning Oconee Nuclear Station. Not only did the project want to decommission the plant but it wanted to create a new way of societies view on energy usage. The project would eliminate both the station and its adjacent backup energy dam. This would cause the lake levels to drop and for thousands of acres of land to be returned to its natural ways. Along with this, the silos would be converted into a form of relic where both scholars and everyday people can come to inhabit.

Cascading Communities was a project submission for the AIA COTE-10 architecture competition which has the goal of creating a project that brings value to social, economic, and ecological aspects of a community. The target site was located in Gary,Indiana and looked at uplifting a community that had once been a central economic hub but has deteriorated due to social and racial issues. The main strategies used were adaptive reuse as to minimize the carbon impact while keeping the local vernacular. This is mainly seen in the iconic brick panel that take materials from surrounding abandoned buildings and create a new identity.
