Give the gift of love to a deserving senior this holiday season The holiday season is also the season of giving and a time to share smiles with those around you. As you gather to drink hot cocoa and sing carols with family and friends, it’s important to remember there are seniors in your community who would love to celebrate, too. However, many seniors live alone, without someone to share this special time. Home Instead Senior Care® serving Clermont and Brown counties is once again offering the community a chance to spread joy to local seniors. Through the Be a Santa to a Senior® program, community members can give a senior a special holiday gift. Since the program’s inception in

2003, the Be a Santa to a Senior® program has mobilized more than 60,000 volunteers, provided approximately 2.1 million gifts and brightened the season for more than 700,000 deserving seniors nationwide. “The Be a Santa to a Senior program is all about including seniors in the joy of the holiday season,” Tim Vasconcellos, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office in Milford, said. “A simple gift shows them they are a loved and vital member of our community.” Be a Santa to a Senior is a true community program, with generous support from local businesses, nonprofit organizations, retailers, numerous volunteers and

members of the community. The Home Instead Senior Care office serving Clermont and Brown counties has partnered with area businesses and organizations to help with gift collection and distribution. It’s easy to help. Visit one of the participating locations listed below and look for the Be a Santa to a Senior tree on display from November 18 to December 15. Each tree will be decorated with ornaments featuring seniors’ first names and gift suggestions. Holiday shoppers can choose an ornament, buy the requested gift and return it to the store with the ornament attached. There’s no need to worry about wrapping — community volunteers and program

partners will wrap and deliver the gifts to local seniors in time for the holidays. “While it may seem like a small act of kindness, it can really make a difference for someone this holiday season,” Vasconcellos said. “Watching seniors open the gifts they received through Be a Santa to a Senior and seeing the smiles and appreciation on their faces is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season.” Be a Santa to a Senior trees can be found at the following locations: Kroger, 824 Main St., Milford, OH 45150 Clermont County YMCA, 2075 James E. Sauls Sr. Dr., Batavia, OH 45103 For more information

about the program, visit BeaSantatoaSenior.com or call 513-576-1250. For more information about how you can help seniors in your community, visit imreadytocare.com. Transportation company participates in ‘No-Shave November’ Reliable Transportation Solutions recently began a No-Shave November Campaign in an effort to help raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The third-party logistics company has been ranked a top workplace in Cincinnati for multiple years, and they sponsor schools and events in their communities, so they are known for both their fun work atmosphere and support of a variety of

community causes. But this No-Shave November event really brings both community assistance and workplace engagement together. As Matt Klever, one of the soon-to-be-bearded participants and the brains behind the event, said. “We take a lot of pride in how close our team is and how we continue to build that culture. Not shaving for a whole month may seem

like a weird way to build camaraderie, but when you have a whole team of people raising money to fight cancer by refusing to shave…it definitely works!” Each participating employee donated a minimum of $5 to take part, and for every employee who doesn’t shave for the entire month, RTS will match their donation. So far, 27 people have agreed not to

shave, and RTS is still accepting donations from any nonparticipating employees who still want to support the cause. The company’s choice of charity, the Prevent Cancer Foundation, is devoted to helping prevent cancer by conducting research and distributing knowledge of prevention services. You can read more about them and give a donation on their website, prevent-

cancer.org. As the RTS family of companies grows, both in the logistics industry and in their local communities, they will continue to support a variety of causes. In the meantime, if you’re in the Cincinnati area and you think you’ve spotted Big Foot, it’s probably just an RTS employee dedicated to fighting cancer. Reliable Transportation

Solutions, a logistics company that’s been in operation since 2006, has locations in Cincinnati and Georgetown, Ohio. RTS arranges for the transportation of goods in the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico. RTS is always hiring quality individuals. If you are interested in becoming a part of their team, email your résumé to jobs@relyonrts.com.
