Bromley High School is part of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust). The GDST is the leading network of independent girls’ schools in the UK. A charity that owns and runs 24 schools and two academies, it reinvests all its income in its schools.
When you visit the Junior School we hope you experience the unmistakable buzz of girls demonstrating their love of learning. We believe that a happy, busy child, who feels valued within the school community and who is inspired and motivated to learn, will achieve her best. The standards of behaviour and academic work are high and we are very proud of the girls’ many accomplishments.

Starting out The Early Years Department has a vibrant atmosphere making maximum use of the colourful, well resourced classrooms and secure outdoor area. The girls follow a creative curriculum which allows them to develop key skills which encompass all six areas of learning in a natural and exciting way. There are plenty of opportunities through play for independent and child-initiated learning to cater for each child’s unique interests. The two Reception classes integrate on a regular basis enabling positive relationships to be formed between the girls and the Early Years Team. In this stimulating, yet secure environment your daughter will quickly learn to love school and relish learning.

Challenges The girls are encouraged to develop resilience, inquisitiveness and tenacity to enable them to deal with our changing world. Their work is designed to encourage them to think outside the box, to take risks with their learning and to welcome new opportunities and experiences. We believe that it is right to take risks – this is how your daughter will learn and build confidence for her next challenge.

Physical Education plays an important and integral part in the lives of the Junior School girls. All girls are encouraged to reach their full potential in both timetabled lessons and the extensive range of extra-curricular sports clubs which take place before, during and after school. Our sports teams have built up a fine reputation over many years at local, county and national level and enable girls who excel in a certain area to reach the highest possible level.

We really value the creative arts and every girl is given many and varied opportunities to express herself creatively from her very first day. Dance and drama lessons enable the girls to respond to a range of stimuli in exciting and innovative ways. They produce artwork using several different media and are inspired by looking at the artwork of other artists.
