Summer Tip Now is the perfect time to start planning interior renovations for the fall and winter. With builders engaged in exterior summer projects, look ahead to interior work that can be done in the colder months when your builder’s schedule is less hectic. Builders appreciate being inside in the winter!

Our Most Recent Project Wrap-up! We have recently wrapped up a large residential project which we have been managing since September of 2007. Two additions to the home along with interior renovations, and hard and soft landscaping are finishing this month.
We have been active with other projects concurrently, and the summer is busy as well. July is upon us and with some much deserved holidays for team members and a demanding schedule, the summer will slip by all too quickly!
Ask BUILD. Q: W e are considering replacing our windows in our home to save on heating and cooling costs. Are new windows a good investment in terms of energy efficiency? A: New windows are not necessarily a good way to save energy. Many good wood windows are replaced with poor quality (especially vinyl) windows that do not improve the efficiency and do not compliment the house architecturally. If you have nicely

detailed wood windows that are original to the house, you can repair them and fit wood or aluminum storms. New windows are expensive to supply and install properly, and may have a 20 to 30 year payback! You’re better to spend your upgrade dollars on improving the insulation in your attic and basement and sealing air leaks around your home. We recently replaced one of the trucks in the fleet with a smaller pickup with better fuel economy. I was hesitant to put my 6'5" frame into a smaller vehicle but it has proven remarkably versatile and efficient, much like a good builder! Rory
