1. Measure and cut 3 rectangles in three different colours: one 22.3 x 10cm and the other two 6.6 x 16cm. Set the two small rectangles aside, and begin with the larger rectangle.

4. Bring the left edge up and push the top and bottom triangles in. Push the left side down to crease the triangle. Repeat for the right side.

7. Bring the top right point down to meet the right point. Bring the bottom point up to meet the right point. Repeat on the left side. 2. Fold the bottom right and left corners up diagonally, aligning the top edge of the rectangle with the edge of the corner. Unfold and repeat for the top corners to create 2 cross creases.

5. Fold the right side over to the left. Fold the top right corner diagonally down to the left so it lines up with the corner of the previous fold. Repeat for the bottom corner.

8. Squash fold all the creases you just made to create 4 squares. 3. Unfold the previous step and flip the rectangle over. Fold the left side over to make a crease through the middle of the cross from the folds from step 2. Repeat for the right side. Unfold and flip back over.

6. Fold the top layer from the left over to the right and crease the flap along the vertical edges of the corners from step 5.

9. Fold the left and right corners of each square towards the middle crease.

10. Squash fold along all the creases again. The folds should look like a circle in the centre.

Open section

11. Flip the paper over so the open section is vertical on the left. Fold the top point down.

14. Glue the two small hearts to each side of the large heart. Allow to dry.

Pull the bottom part of the hearts out so your card can stand up!

12. Fold the right and left points over slightly to create two small triangles. Flip the paper back over to see your design.

15. Write a nice hidden message under the first layer of each of the bottom points. 13. Repeat steps 2-12 for the two smaller rectangles to create smaller hearts.

16. Your Origami Heart Card is now ready to gift to someone you love on Valentine’s Day!
