appealing – environment in which to explore and celebrate your heritage while feeling part of a dynamic and thriving community.
cultural activities.
Throughout the past years, it has been truly heartwarming to celebrate with you, learn with you and grow with you in the magnificent premises of Aspen’s JCC. We are once again excited to offer a variety of youth programs, Shabbat festivities, adult education courses, holiday celebrations, social events, recreational pastimes, and enrichment programs. I am confident that you will find the Jewish Community Center to be a warm, welcoming, cheerful and spirited – not to mention aesthetically
Among the many attractive features of the Aspen Jewish Community Center is that one is not required to be a “member” to participate in any of our programs at any level. Indeed, we welcome folks of all ages and from all walks of life – regardless of background or affiliation – with open arms and an open heart, as we seek to make our center your friendly “home away from home.”
I encourage you to become acquainted with the exciting new menu of programs, services, events and activities that will be offered to the community at large during the JCC Aspen’s upcoming summer season.
Furthermore, if you have not done so yet, I invite you to stop by and take a tour of the exquisite facility. My invitation to you and yours is not merely an invitation to bring new meaning into your lives, but indeed to be a part of history!
Looking forward to greeting you at the JCC in the near future.
Sincerely, Rabbi Mendel & Lieba MintzCenter, please feel free to contact me at 970-544-3770 or via email at rabbi@jccaspen.com
After an involuntary twoyear hiatus from our full schedule of in-person programs and events, we are delighted and excited to announce: “The Chabad Jewish Community Center of the Aspen Valley is back – better and stronger than ever!”
The following pages present various opportunities for you and/or your family members to join with Chabad and other collaborating organizations for a wide range of inspiring and enriching live experiences in our beautiful and spacious facilities during the summer of 2022.
From youth programs to Shabbat festivities, classes to lectures, films to workshops, communal celebrations to cultural events, we are confident that you will find any number of these offerings intriguing and appealing. Of course, an added bonus to any Chabad JCC of Aspen program is the warm and inviting atmosphere of your surroundings.
True to our “no membership” policy, we pride ourselves on welcoming people from all walks of life with open arms
and gracious hearts. Your previous background or current affiliation does not matter to us as we aim to make our center your friendly “home away from home.”
If the barriers and restrictions of the past two years have taught us anything, it’s how much we truly depend on one another to realize the best intellectual, emotional and spiritual versions of ourselves. Human beings are social beings and nowhere does our social interaction find greater expression than within a welcoming, caring, and spirited Jewish community.
So, as you leaf through this guide, it gives us great joy and pleasure to once again be able to say: WELCOME HOME!
Looking forward to greeting you at the Chabad JCC, we remain,
Sincerely,
P.S. Check our website - jccaspen.com –as we continuously add to / update the summer schedule with more programs, lectures and community events.

Heather Mac Donald is the Thomas W. Smith Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, a contributing editor of City Journal, and a New York Times bestselling author. Her work at City Journal has covered a range of topics, including higher education, immigration, policing, homelessness and homeless advocacy, criminal-justice reform, and race relations. Her writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, and The New Criterion. Mac Donald's newest book, The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture(2018), argues that toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. The root of this problem is the belief in America’s endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has engendered a frightening diversity bureaucracy in society and academia that will undermine American success and freedom, now and in the years to come.

One of the most powerful statements in all of Judaism can be summed up in one word: “Hineni – Here I am!”
From Abraham to Joseph, Moses to Isaiah, continuing with all of the great leaders and quiet heroes of our storied history, “Hineni” has been our most revealing and oft-invoked refrain.
Beyond a mere statement of presence and existence, Hineni speaks of a sense of readiness to embrace one’s mission and purpose with fortitude and commitment. Coming from our very essence, Hineni means that when something needs to get done, we step up to the plate with a sense of responsibility, devotion and loyalty to declare: “Here I am!”
live by the “Hineni” motif.
Time and again, when the call has gone out to help Chabad JCC provide a vital Jewish education to children of all ages, for those who appreciate the importance of “community” - to help us launch and maintain our programs, synagogue, and learning opportunities, the response was “Hineni – count me in!”
It is in this spirit that we launch "Fuel the Future" to assure we continue to flourish and grow with new programs and services for the community like "Friendship Circle" for kids with special needs, camp, teen groups, and expanding our footprint, thereby enabling us to say “Hineni” to more of those who turn to us for physical assistance, emotional support and spiritual reinforcement.
