from IMCAT President Susan Lenox On behalf of the IMCAT Board of Directors, welcome to Fort Worth and to I.M. 2014, our 23rd Annual Conference. Our Conference Chair Kellie Skarda and the Conference Committee have been working since last year’s conference to put together an event that involves all the disciplines involved in getting instructional materials to Texas schoolchildren. Whether you’re a coordinator, a curriculum specialist, a technology director or a business office worker, you’ll find information that will help you do your job and, ultimately, make it easier for children to learn. We at IMCAT are committed to our goal of sharing knowledge so we can overcome the challenges of a changing world...and help our kids.

Both drawings will be held at the General Session Wednesday (Dec. 10). Visit at least 30 exhibitors to qualify for the drawing for the UNOBOOK. If you have completed your game card by visiting all of the exhibitors, you will be entered into an additional drawing to win $100 cash. Must be present to win.

Toys for Tots/Raffle
It’s become an IMCAT tradition: As Christmas nears, bring an unwrapped toy that you can share with a child who might not get one if not for Toys For Tots, a project of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Drop off your donation for the Toys For Tots Drive from 6 to 6:30 pm in the foyer of Texas Ballroom EF. Plus you’ll have a chance to win a beautiful hand-made quilt (courtesy of IMCAT Pres. Susan Lenox) in a raffle conducted during the conference. IMCAT will present the toys and the proceeds from the raffle to the Marines on Wednesday (Dec. 10).
Casino Night Sponsored by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt & IMCAT
Try your hand with Lady Luck at IMCAT’s annual Casino Night from 6:30-9 pm Tuesday (Dec. 9). You can win “play money” and be eligible for a prize drawing.
Russell Owen Scholarship/Raffle
IMCAT welcomes Karen Phillips and Jeff Funderburgh as this year’s recipients of the Russell Owen Scholarship. The scholarship honors the late Russell Owen, textbook coordinator at Dallas ISD and a founder of the Textbook Coordinators’ Association of Texas, which later became IMCAT. To raise funds, IMCAT is raffling off a Christmas tree loaded with gift cards. Buy your ticket at the registration counter.
