WHAT WE DO CLINIC’s State and Local Immigration Project: n Provides legal analysis, data, and talking points on proposed state/local legislation, resolutions, ordinances, and policies; n Suggests pro-immigrant integration legislation; n Helps advocates collaborate to challenge or promote immigration-related bills; and n Provides regular updates on immigration-related issues and legislation, such as ●

Federal and state partnerships to enforce immigration laws;

U.S. Supreme Court and Circuit Court cases;

Government reports and findings; and

I

ncreasingly, state and local policymakers are taking immigration matters into their own hands. The resulting laws and policies have far-reaching effects – both positive and negative – on migrants and their families, businesses, and communities.

Since 2007, CLINIC’s State and Local Immigration Project has supported advocacy across the country to promote the dignity and protect the rights of immigrant communities. Expert attorneys provide legal analysis, training, technical assistance, and support to advocates working to oppose anti-immigrant measures introduced at the state and local levels and promote pro-immigrant initiatives.
