2015 Burham Prize Competition : Currencies of Architecture is part of the Chicago's Architecture Biennial (CAB) as a platform to explore tendencies of contemporary architecture and how it relates to the past and how it foresees the future. Today's architecture is a mixture of accumulative perspectives based on globalization. Today, the world is closer through the use of technological advances. The art of architecture has become a world tendency of "cool", smooth, clear, black and white, glass, steel buildings that evoke a mood transcendence. Modern architecture has submerged itself in a black and white world in which color appears to be forgotten. Form has become the new norm: building aesthetics is playing a critical goal in what goes and what does not. Is as if, we design a 3d beautiful model (once approve), then we start fitting the functions within that form. Therefore, we are giving more value to the object than to the actual usage: for the human functions. Let's think people. However, as centralized sustainable mixed-use buildings (skyscrapers) keeps appearing in our cities, and we add the new technologies of the future, in addition to the ideas of flexibility and mobility: it can be foresee that almost perfect vertical buildings as cities will move on their own. Picture a robot like in building scale> moving people in vertical hubs as necessary: for food production, for weather preference, and for safety. The world as a neighborhood in the universe...
