Time to do business ...and a lot more too

5 easy ways to make the most of your Trade Days visit Give yourself plenty of time, there is so much to see we wouldn’t want you to miss out on anything. Because it is a trade-only audience, you will find that you will be able to have longer, more in depth, business discussions

1

“Compared to other events in our industry Trade Days feels much more relaxed”. “As it’s a Sunday I have been able to bring along several members of my team”. “Great seminars, a great show and we did some good deals too.”

2

Take a good look at the seminar programme. The free, 30 minute sessions cover a wide variety of subjects but have all been designed especially for businesses like your own.

Just a few of the many very positive comments from retailers following the launch of Trade Days last year. This year the show is bigger, with even more important companies in one place and ready to talk business. There’s a busy free seminar programme too, covering a wide range of topics, designed to help you market more effectively, sell more and help you run your own business more profitably.

3

3

If you came along last year, then you’ll already know just how different a trade-only event like this is. More time to talk, more time to plan, more time to do business – it’s just easier for both exhibitors and visitors. Apart from being able to source new products for the showroom from both existing and brand new suppliers, Trade Days gives you the opportunity to think about your own company in a focused business environment.

This year’s two-day seminar programme offers businesses both small and large a wide variety of 30 minute sessions on subjects ranging from how to close sales, using simple no cost marketing techniques and how to get more business from your existing customers. New for 2015, a programme of sessions with a general business theme, designed to provide valuable tips on a range of issues such as managing staff absences, dealing with disciplinary and grievance procedures, how you can get the most out of different characters in the business as well as making the most of your time. Trade Days Show Director, Matthew Butler says: “We had some great feedback from the seminar programme last year and we have developed that further by adding a number of general business sessions that we are sure will be popular. We would encourage anyone planning to come to the show to take a good look at the seminars on offer and bring other team members who could also benefit from the sessions.” Continued on page 3

4 5

Think about who else in the team might benefit from a visit to the show. It’s a great opportunity for your staff to meet team members from your suppliers that they never usually see face to face. With such a comprehensive range of free seminars on offer, it will also be useful to have someone else with you at the show to cover the sessions you cannot get to. If you are able, take the opportunity to stay overnight on the Sunday. Spending both days at the show will give you time to do so much more. www.tradedays.co.uk/accommodation Contact the suppliers you want to meet up with before the show opens. Schedule a time slot with them to

The show has a good combination of exhibitors and informative seminars which makes it a very worthwhile day. Shane Smith, Town & County Mobility

As a retailer the launch of Trade Days is great news!! In addition to the latest products, the seminar programme has also been very interesting and informative. Edward Trewhella, Chief Executive, Cornwall Mobility

Pick up your free growth plan at the door Visitors to Trade Days this year will get simple, common-sense tips on how to generate more sales just by picking up the Show Guide. Apart from all essential information about all the trade suppliers on the show floor and details of the free business focussed seminar programme, the Guide includes a special 15 point retail growth plan. The growth plan covers easy to implement actions that will keep retailers one step ahead of their competition. Show Director, Matthew Butler says that providing advice like this is exactly what Trade Days is all about. “From the minute visitors walk through the door at this years’ show, they will have access to the very best advice and support, both from the exhibitors and from the presenters of a packed two-day educational programme.” He added: “Trade Days is all about everyone in the trade coming together to develop their businesses, learn new ways to do things, find new markets to sell into and to spend a couple of days just thinking about their business and all the opportunities that the marketplace offers. We are on course to produce a very vibrant event and would encourage retailers to bring as many team members with them as they can as they will all get a great deal from the visit.”

Pick up your growth plan at the Trade Days entrance

continued from page 1 There’s going to be a lot going on and so Matthew also suggests considering a two day visit. Last year one retailer told us: “Thanks for a fantastic show. It more than surpassed my expectations and the quality of discussions with exhibitors made it difficult to get round in a day. I am planning on coming for both days next year.” Matthew adds: “As it’s a trade only event, there are a lot more meetings going on for a lot longer than you’ll see at other shows. We believe that anyone spending both days at the show will find it very worthwhile.” If you want to know what OTs really think about you, then there is a fascinating insight being provided at the end of the first day when the results of a unique survey are revealed. OTs have been asked a series of key questions and you can hear the results in a seminar from 16.15 to 16.45 in the Business Builder 2 Theatre on Sunday. Plan to sit in on the seminar and stay for the drinks reception afterwards. You can also listen to experts from brand agency Elmwood about the important of building your own brand and in another, how to get your company noticed online in your local area. Attend the seminar on Sunday entitled ‘Improve sales with a more effective selling space - simple tricks to make the showroom work for you’ and you could win yourself a free consultation which will give you recommendations on how to improve your retail space. Returning to the show floor, the Kymco stand auction is back by popular demand too. The company will be auctioning every product on the stand each day – a great opportunity to grab a real bargain. And, talking of bargains, one of the first stands you’ll come across will have plenty of them. ‘Deal On’ will be featured on the THIIS trade magazine stand and will highlight show deals that will make your trip even more worthwhile. Finally, if you still have any doubts that time spent at Trade Days will be time well spent, here’s another quote from a retailer about last year’s show which really sums it up – “What a brilliant event. It is great to have a trade only show and we have not only made new contacts but also done some business. I will 100% be here again next year.” If you haven’t already registered, why not come along yourself to see what all the fuss is about! Register online at www.tradedays.co.uk/newspaper!

Shop fitting experts looking to put themselves in the shop window Hertford Shelving is a specialist shop fitting company with experience in the marketplace after working with Harlow based 1st Call Mobility. In business for more than 20 years, the company has worked on all types of retail outlets including Garden Centres, Pet shops, Reptile and Aquatic outlets, Supermarkets, Post Offices and Stationery and Card Shops. 1st Call Mobility Managing Director, David Davison, said: “The company did a great job for us and provided us with the slatted timber system which is very flexible and enables us to display both the small products and the larger items too. We have found it to be a very versatile system. They have always been very efficient when they have been doing the work and they can turn around a job quickly.” Steve Lodge, Managing Director of Hertford Shelving said: “We can work from design drawings or floor plans supplied by retailers using the materials of their choice and we can source most products and materials to meet the image or finish that they may have seen in magazines or on the high street.” Visit Hertford Shelving on Stand C70.

‘Phenomenal offers’ promised on the stand TGA Mobility will be unveiling what the company describes as ‘a significant range of exclusive trade offers’ themed around the company’s 30th birthday.

‘Deal On’ option gives retailers even more reasons to visit The ‘Deal On’ section of THIIS magazine will be making an appearance at Trade Days with opportunities for both exhibitors and retailers to highlight promotions. ‘Deal On’ is available to all THIIS advertisers every month and is an opportunity for companies to promote ‘one off’ deals for products they are looking to push or for stock that they are looking to supply at very attractive trade prices. The feature will be running on the THIIS stand which is located just inside the entrance to the show. It will be available, free of charge, to all exhibitors at Trade Days and will provide a ‘one stop’ location where visitors will be able to see all the best offers on the show floor.

The offers will include product discounts, added value packages and unique incentives all linked to the theme of ‘30’. The company says that, whether you are an existing retailer, or are looking to start a relationship with the company, you’ll discover a vast range of offers at Trade Days, which are only being disclosed at the show.

Retailers visiting the show can also use the feature to highlight stock that they have available and would like to shift from the showroom or stockroom.

The TGA Stand at B40 is being designed so business engagement is easier in dedicated meeting zones with comfortable seating and refreshments.

The THIIS stand is A1, just inside the entrance to the show.

Successful auction returns with Software experts on hand margin opportunities The POTS team will be on hand to give face-to-face demonstrations of their software as well as promotional cupcakes.

Following what the company describe as a great success when it was run for the first time at the launch of Trade Days last year, Kymco Healthcare will be running its ‘Products under a Hammer’ auction again.

Kris Allen, Managing Director of POTS said: “Trade Days 2014 was an enormous success for us. As our software is built specifically for the healthcare and mobility market. We all want to improve the quality of care provided to those who need it. We do this by helping companies that service and maintain equipment to be more productive and responsive, which ultimately benefits those receiving care. We would love for attendees to come and grab a free cupcake, have a chat and see that we aren’t just your typical software geeks.”

The auction, which attracted plenty of retailers to the Kymco stand last year, will see everything on the stand being auctioned off. Managing Director, Mark Hermolle says that success of the promotion last year reinforced the unique opportunities that Trade Days offers suppliers. “The auction was fun and retailers had the opportunity to grab themselves some real bargains. It isn’t something that we could have run at any other UK show but, with a trade-only audience. Retailers who have the winning bids will leave the show with big savings off their normal trade prices.”

The POTS team will be on stand F82.

The auction is open to all Kymco retailers and takes place at 13.00 on both days on stand B31

Something to shout about Amplicomms, specialists in developing amplified and assistive technology products for people with hearing, vision and dexterity loss, are returning this following the success of last years’ show.

TV Listeners, Door Bells, and some of the loudest hearing aid compatible domestic and mobile phones. The company will be on stand D01.

This year amplicomms will be showcasing a number of their latest products, all easy to use and ergonomically designed to improve the ability to hear and communicate with others. The range includes Bluetooth and Mobile Phone amplifiers, Care Monitors and Alarm Clocks, Vibrating Pillow Pad Alerts,
