Questions for an EA
The old method of testing in the lodge was by Question and Answer—few do this today but it was also a method used to confer the degrees. Here a set of questions with answers on P. 27:
Name the 4 cardinal virtues. What are the working tools of an EA? Where were you first prepared What are the great lights? What does the VSL teach? What is the position of the square & compasses? What does the first part of the EA sign signify? What are the chief supports of a freemason? Name these What are the grand principles of a freemason? Why does the EA wear a plain white apron? Why is the carpet B & W? How is a lodge situated? What must all regular freemasons believe in? When tis the SW’s column upwards? What jewel does he wear? Why is the new apprentice called an EA? Where does the JW sit?
