Lodge St. John 3bis Charity Box

The charity box was presented to the lodge in 1886 as shown on the plaque on the right. It was made from wood recovered from the following buildings—the Moat Bridge of Rothesay Castle, Glasgow Cathedral 1133 (after repairs about 1880), the old Stockwell Bridge 1343, and The Old College in the High Street (now The University of Glasgow). A fabulous piece of Glasgow history.

Bottom right shows the main crest on their jewels—the lamb, the cross and the eagle.
